📚 Back-to-School LTC Swap – August 2025

As students prepare for a new school year, let’s mark the season with creativity and care. This swap is all about the excitement of returning to the classroom—whether it’s your first day or your fiftieth year of learning.

🎨 Theme:
Back to School – Designs can include books, supplies, chalkboards, apples, classrooms, or anything that captures the spirit of learning.

📬 How it works:
– Create 5 identical LTCs based on the theme
– Include a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) so you can receive 5 different cards from other participants
– 📦 Important: Be sure to register your card on Atlas Quest (as a traditional LTC listing) so that other swappers can log it when received!

We are suggesting August as Letterbox Clean-Up month. We checked on our local plants this week. We were happy to find one clean and dry, and surprised to find another gone. We are cleaning up our plants page. It would be wonderful if everyone could do the same. So many boxes listed as unknown…inquiring minds would love to know if those boxes are available.

That’s a great idea! I obviously can’t check on all of my plants, but I do have a couple of local boxes that people couldn’t find, so I’ll check on them. I also do try to check on my plants if I’m in the area.

I agree that it's a great idea for planters to check on their local boxes that have an unknown status and/or attempts on them and to then update/maintain them.

Some planters are no longer active, or right now they're too busy with life to letterbox, or they've planted far from home. So finders could help with this effort too. They could check on a local box they've previously found that now has an unknown status and report on it. They could also try to find a box they've been avoiding because it hasn't been found in five years but could very well be there.

Are you trying to kill us down here? August is stay in the house month and carve. We box in the wintertime and hide during these triple digits.
Always a good plan to do maintenance and be reminded to do so though.

Thank you. It turns out that our travel plans changed, so I will have to go down there at a later date. Bummer, and also maybe it is not bad weather-wise.

Maybe we will get to cross paths on the trails again!
