Description

You asked for it so we're heading back to West Yarmouth to stay at the Cape Point Hotel. Many of you couldn't resist the urge to get back to those primo boxes that were left unfound last year.

Pricing to come but we negotiated a bit less (!) than last year's rates at the hotel. Dinner will be at Ardeo's again for that fabulous buffet and maybe dessert if you're good!

If you missed it last year; now's your chance.
If you came last year; you asked for it now sign up!

Stay tuned, details to follow.

A Pinecone Adventure

Mar 2, 2013: Rates for Bed & Boxing 6
Hi gang,

We're very happy to announce that we have negotiated even lower rates this year for you! One rate for everything makes it easy and includes: 2 nights stay, 2 full buffet breakfasts each morning (in our own private room), and all taxes and gratuities!

Single rate is $200 for the weekend; Double (2 people) is $220 for the weekend. Many times participants like to arrive a day or two early or stay a day or two after the weekend and the special rate for that is $69 per night plus tax per room.

You can start making reservations by calling the Cape Point's toll free number 877 810-4305. Don't forget to ask for "PINECONE ADVENTURE'S SPECIAL RATES" for the weekend. You will be asked for your charge card but will not be charged the deposit until August 1.

Be sure to make your reservation so you aren't closed out of this fun event!

Mar 20, 2013: Bed & Boxing
Hi gang,

I know it's early but we need you to call the Cape Point and book your room if you haven't. Reason being, I have 20 rooms that I've held per my contract with management. If we need more, I'll have to do that pretty soon but I don't want to reserve more rooms if we don't need them. October is a busy time at the Cape so they would like to see us first use our allotted 20 rooms; then we'll reserve more.

Don't forget - you don't have to pay a thing. They will take your credit card info and on August 1, charge your card with the one night deposit. All details on the AQ event page.

If you aren't planning on coming and have signed up - we'd appreciate you removing yourselves so we can be sure others who might want to come will have a room.

Thanks very much and Happy Spring!!!!
:-)

Mar 25, 2013: Bed & Boxing Saturday Night Buffet at Ardeo's
Hi Gang,

I told you I'd be in touch once we signed the contract for our buffet and we have!

Dinner Saturday night is at Ardeo's, one of the Cape's finest eateries. The Italian buffet is $21.50 plus 25% for tax and gratuity per person. Rounding up it's a total of $27 per person.

Those of you who joined us last year know the food was amazing and they kept bringing out food. There was more than enough for the heartiest of eaters! This year, we also get chef's choice of dessert and coffee/tea. Of course, alcohol, soda on your own and billed additionally.

Buffet includes:

Caesar Salad
Italian Red Cabbage Salad
Tomato & Mozzarella Salad
Cheese Tortellini
Homemade Meatballs
Chicken Piccata
Seafood Primavera
Italian Bread & Butter
Coffee or Tea
Chef's Choice of Dessert

So that's it. Hope this meets with your approval. I think it's a great deal for what we are getting and the food is amazing. Check out Aredeo's Mediterranean Grille on the net!

May 31, 2013: Bed & Boxing event
Hi gang,

Please email me if you are going to attend the Saturday night buffet at Ardeo's. Last year's meal was very well received. Details on pricing and what is on the menu is on the event page.

Thanks,

Mark

Jul 15, 2013: Just Checking In for Bed & Boxing
Hi folks,

My latest count from the hotel is 9 rooms. Some of you listed here have not reserved your room it appears. If you haven't, please do so and if for some reason you cannot attend, please remove yourself from the event listing so I can have an accurate count of who will be attending.

Thanks and stay cool - it's blistering here in the Northeast!

Aug 9, 2013: Bed & Boxing Reservations
Hi Gang,

I just received the most current listing of names and rooms at the Cape Pointe. They don't jive with who is signed up here on the Event Page.

Please, before you loose out, make your reservation before the hotel removes the special pricing.

And if you can't make it, please remove your name from the list so I can keep better track of everyone.

Thanks and no need to email me if you have made your reservations - I'm going by count (and some names that I know!)

Sep 20, 2013: Bed & Boxing
Hi all,

Just a quick note that when I received a call from the event coordinator from the Cape Pointe resort where we'll be staying, she had a few less rooms that I thought we should and a few less people.

Please be sure (call them if you aren't sure) that you have asked for the "Pinecone Adventures" rate and the number of people in your room.

In our rate, we have negotiated breakfast. If you don't ask for our rate, you don't get breakfast!! If you haven't told them there are 2 people in a room and not 1; someone doesn't get breakfast!

Please, check into that. I don't want to have people running around last minute trying to get a head count, etc.

Besides that, our order is in for the best fall weather possible. Fall at the Cape is a great thing. Also, there will not be any new boxes for this year's event so bring all of your own clues.

I will have event patches @ $5 each for sale that mimic the fantastic event stamp carved by Coffee Cup from OH.

See you all soon. I'll be in touch again for sure!

Oct 1, 2013: Bed & Boxing at the Cape
Hi gang,

We're getting closer to our event and thought you might be missing me!

Unlike last year, we will have breakfast in and meet in the Chatham Room. This room, located close to our individual rooms, will be our headquarters for the weekend when we're at the motel and not out boxing. We have the room from Friday at noon until noon on Sunday. The room should be kept unlocked but if not, I will have a key and if you can't find me, contact the front desk. The staff is very good.

Breakfast buffet daily (included in your rate - please confirm when you check in that you are signed up for breakfast) is from 8am to 9am in the Chatham Room, which is located at the top of the stairs and to the right on the second floor.

Dinner at Ardeo's (http://www.dineardeo.com/) is at 6pm Saturday evening. They do a terrific job and the food is very nice. And, I remembered dessert this year! Price is $21.50 plus 25% for tax and gratuity per person. Rounding up it's a total of $27 per person. We will be at the Union Station location, 23 V Whites Path, South Yarmouth, MA 02664 which is very close to our motel.

As of right now we are all going to Ardeo's except the Imbodens and AZroadie & Desert Flower. That leaves the count of those attending at 26 people. Let me know if you are NOT going to attend this meal (besides the 4 I just mentioned) email me soon as I have to call in the counts to Ardeo's by Monday of the week before we go. Also, if you have said you are not going and want to change your mind, you still can do that as well.

The Cape Point is fine with us hiding boxes in public places as long as we remove them when we leave on Sunday. We did that last year so don't hesitate to bring some boxes for the motel. Front desk will gladly copy clues as needed.

There will be a 6' extra table in the Chatham Room. We usually have the attendees bring something for the weekend. Please see the numbers below which correspond to your number on the AQ event page (http://www.atlasquest.com/showinfo.html?gEventId=2758) and bring the appropriate item. IF YOU ARE A COUPLE AND SIGNED UP AS INDIVIDUALS, BRING ONLY 1 OF THE APPROPRIATE ITEM. Your item can go on the 6' table in the Chatham Room, please.

#1 - 5, please bring a 24 pack of bottled water

#4 - 15, please bring a healthy snack. If you don't bring something packed in individual sized portions, please bring some baggies as well.

#16 - 22, please bring a dessert of some kind that doesn't need refrigeration. Again, some paper plates or forks if your dessert is not finger food.

I think that's it for now. Bring your own clues. The weather, as promised, at this point looks to be sunny and crisp (upper 50's and lower 60's.) Perfect boxing weather!

See you all soon and safe journey to those of you traveling from CA, AZ, IL and greater New England & New York.

Oct 16, 2013: Quick revise
Hi gang,

Almost time!

Check AQ, there are some new boxes planted for us by Choi & Travelers 4, chunna, Mumma & Bunny Boy. We'll be pretty busy!

Also, we will be meeting in a different room than planned. The management has moved us to a larger room - Wellfleet Room - which is on the first floor. The are putting a refrigerator in there as well so anyone bringing water can put some in there as well.

Weather looks good. Don't forget your snack, water, dessert as determined by your signup number.

Dinner Saturday night at 6pm at Ardeo's.

That's it for now. See you all sometime after supper on Friday night - we'll be out boxing for the day!!
:-)
