Description

Please carve a stamp of your choice for this Newbie postal ring. Be sure to enclose a log book for your stamp too!

AQ me your address and an alternate email when signing up please.

Here is a link on how to prepare the envelope: http://chedvasltccarvingsspoilers.blogspot.com/p/bubble-envelopes.html?m=1

3-5 days (or sooner) turn around time, please. Please confirm with the person listed below your name that they are ready to receive it. If they can’t or if there is no response in 2 days, please contact the next person, and let me know so I can adjust the list.

If you have ANY questions pleas ask! Communication is KEY!

Here are some helpful instructions:

1. Upon receiving a postal, remove all labels, trackers, and postage. Hopefully everything has tape under it that you can just peal away. If not, you'll have to scrape it off with your nails or use goo gone.
2. Untape the opening. See step #11!
2. Stamp like you do a normal box.
3. Record your find on the tracker. Click on the box you have. You'll be able to record from there.
4. Replace everything in the envelope.
5. Go to the tracker. Look to see who is under you. Contact that person for their address. Take a piece of plain paper and write that address on it. You can find the tracker under MY PAGE, TRACKERS, JOINED, ALL.
6. When attaching the address of where you are sending, dogear the corner or put a dot under a corner of the tape. This assists the next person in finding where a corner is to remove the mailing label.
7. Same thing goes for sealing the envelope shut. Dogear a corner or put a dot under a corner of the tape so the next person can easily find where to pull the tape.
8. It's also helpful to put an extra piece of tape that has a dogearred corner or a dot where the postage goes. It's so easy to remove postage this way and keeps the envelope from getting gooed up.
9. Also helpful to put a couple extra pieces of tape side by side with a dogearred corner or a dot where the tracker will go if you use one. These are especially difficult to remove. Makes it so easy to remove the tracker and definitely keeps the envelope from getting gooed up. If you use counter service, show the clerk where you want the label to go. I use self service kiosks so this isn't an issue for me.
10. Do not tape over the postage as it will invalidate the postage!
11. NEVER cut an edge or the flap when unsealing. If taped correctly, you should be able to peel the tape off.
12. Check on the postals you've joined to see how they are progressing. If you think one will arrive while you are out of town, contact the administrator of the ring. Request to be moved down in the tracker. That's just being courteous to the rest of the ring. Keeps the box moving.
13. Please DO NOT use mailing labels that have a sticky back. They don't come off. Write your address on plain paper.
14. Life happens. Emergencies happen. If you are going to have a postal for a few days longer, let the tracker participants know that you'll be mailing a few days late. People get testy when a postal stalls and nobody knows why. Just communicate. That's the key. COMMUNICATION!

Creating the Mailing Envelope for the Ring:
1. Choose a padded envelope that your stamp and log book will fit into.
2. Put your address in the upper left hand corner AND in the "TO" area.
3. Cover the entire envelope with clear packing tape, front, back, and edges. This reinforces the envelope AND make it so the envelope can be reused over and over. BE SURE TO PUT A PIECE OF TAPE OVER THE STRIP OF PAPER ON THE FLAP. You don't want the envelope to permanently seal.
4. When attaching the address of where you are sending, dogear the corner or put a dot under a corner. This assists the next person in finding where a corner is to remove the mailing label.
5. Same thing goes for sealing the envelope shut. Dogear a corner or put a dot under a corner so the next person can easily find where to pull the tape.

If the envelope has been taped properly, it will survive a years worth of mailing. You do not need to change the return address when mailing to the next person. If for some reason an envelope gets "lost" in the postal system, we want it to be returned to the original carver.
