Description

This will be our first planned event! And we couldn't be any more excited. So November is close to the start of winter and being Michigan you never know what we are going to get. So this event is called Staying Warm In The Mitten... It will be indoor/outdoor event... Overnight! If wanted.

So far this is what we have planned....

Friday we will plan a small get together have a little bit of snacks with a meet and greet sharing signature stamps, postal and even some around the hotel searching. Our plan is to find a park or area to do a night boxing friday night.
SATURDAY... Breakfast will be served from 6am-9am. We will have clues ready for handing out by 12pm. Plan dinner back at hotel by 6:30pm and more meet and greet.
SUNDAY... Breakfast is served again 6am-9am. Checkout is 11am.

You dont have to stay all weekend if u dont want you can come sat morning and get clues and hang out

We will have more details when we get closer to time.
As of this moment I dont know what deal I can get on rooms but will post tuesday as soon as I find out.

Note: This Hotel is pet friendly no extra cost. There is a hot tub and sauna. No pool. ONLY WAY TO GET MY RATE DISCOUNT IS TO CALL AND RESERVE THROUGH US NOT ONLINE. We do NOT charge the account until check in day.

A group block has been places at the hotel. When you call to reserve please let them know that your booking for the letter boxing event and the dates.
Prices are 15% off normal rate I have 10... 1Qs on hold and 10...2Q's on hold.
Prices are as
1Q = 1 Night = 95.82 after tax
1Q = 2 Nights = 191.64 after tax

2Q = 1 Night = 100.86 after tax
2Q = 2 Nights = 201.72 after tax

When you make a reservation we do NOT charge the card until you check in. You do have 24hrs BEFORE event to cancel. Please do not hesitate to message me if you have any Questions, concerns or issues i am more then willing to help those that ask.

Hey my fellow letterboxers :)

I'm so happy to see you all have joined the event. I'm looking forward to it as time gets closer. So after talking over with my other half of our group.... I come to realize, I have had a few people call and reserve a room (YAY)... However, I haven't been to enough events yet to get your real name so I have you few people that have reserved.. but... I don't ...know... who you are :/ so IF at all possible... Could you please send a personal message with your real name so I can put it in my file for myself and I can personally thank you as well. If you have reserved and they don't put you in my group block then you wont be near our group so this helps me keep us all kinda close in the building.
We are overly excited and cannot wait :)

Hey Everyone,

We have 2 weeks left until the deadline for a discounted rate on rooms. We have finished up all our stamps and are ready to plant them. Still working out a few steps will have more updates within next few days.

Heey All.....
Okay so now that I am on a computer its so much easier to type :)

We have 11 days until the deadline of getting special rate.
PLEASE, PLEASE let me know when you have booked a room so I can keep our group together. It is one of our deer widow weekends so we will book up quickly, I know as soon as I let go of our rooms they will be taken.

As far as animals... All are welcome even if you stay... no extra charge.

I have had many of you ask if you could come just Saturday.... YES! YES! and 100% YES :) please do the more the merrier.
I will have a setup in my room for clues and the event stamp Sat morning. I will also be taking information about who all will be coming back at end of time and Hanging out. That will determine if I get the Breakfast room or if we just hang out in mine and bobbies room ( We got a Suite)

As far as food, It will be one of those fend for yourself Meals but we will have snacks, and drinks... where ever we end up... If you want to bring something to stay warm your more then welcome to leave with us and we can keep it plugged in.

Table top stamps.... Hidden stamps... by all means if you want to hide your own you're more then welcome to.

At the end when you have worn yourself out for boxes come back and enjoy time to meet new people, talk to old friends, play card games, share stamps or even just sit there.

Nov 1, 2018: Holy Moly! 1 week left :)
Yes you read that right only 1 Week left. We have been so busy with carves and getting boxes all taped and ready. We are now all set and ready :) How about you....

A few things
Food:
We will be having 3 different soups ( Tomato. Chicken Noodle. and Cheesy Ham and potato Soup). Some Rolls, Cookies, Chips & Salsa... Mostly quick and easy things.
There will be coffee, Hot Chocolate, Water and A few pops. If you want to bring anything to pass or for yourself, you are more then welcome too.

If you are staying the whole weekend AWESOME. We have all been placed in the same wing it is 2nd floor NOTE!!! If you cannot do (18 steps)stairs PLEASE let me know ahead of time so I can move you to first floor.

The weekend we will be quite busy, However don't let that strike you away we have LOTS planned :)

As far as the Night Boxing we wanted to do Friday- We still have a plan for it but its up in air right now.
Saturday--- We will go ahead and start at 9.am, Cuz I carved quite a bit so there is TON of stamps :) (Oops lol)
We are NOT going to make a mandatory time to be back to eat, we are going to say come and go as you please there will be food available all day for those wanting to eat.
For those that are staying until Sunday Check out for us will be NOON not 11 am I got extensions for us all.
AGAIN You do NOT have to stay all weekend. You are more then welcome to come any time.
I will Be sending another letter out with Needed Information If I could PLEASE have all those planning on attending to answer So I can let the hotel Know.

Nov 5, 2018: Way to earn stamp
BaliWho is collecting plastic caps and lids to be recycled into park benches. It takes 400 pounds of lids to make ONE bench! If you donate any lids, there is a "thank you" stamp!

Lids needed include: Medicine bottle caps, milk jug caps, detergent caps, hair spray caps, toothpaste caps, deodorant caps, drink bottle caps, flip-top caps (ketchup, mustard, etc), spray paint caps, ointment tube caps, lids from cottage cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, yogurt, peanut butter, ice cream buckets, coffee cans, butter containers, etc. Recycle #'s 2, 4 and 5.

Look for the black bin at the event and toss a lid (or 100!) in for recycling. If you donate any lids, you can stamp the "thank you" stamp! Bin will be in Bali's room or the host suite.

FIRST Bobbie and I would LOVE to thank everyone for coming we had so much fun. A huge success for first time event planners. We have went ahead and added plants to the event page so you can log the ones you have found. If you have a stamp that is not listed please let us know and we will add too it. With everything I carved It would not supirse me if I forgot something...

Nov 11, 2018: Last message to group
Just wanted to let everyone know we had an amazing time. and again thank you. as of right now all but one set of boxes are still out and will be out for about week or 2 before we decided if they are going to stay in the spot.

we also added a few pictures if you would like to add to them.

We had so much fun planting and making clues for this and I apologize that in all the commotion I didn't think of the amount of people that would have been around for the ones in downtown and the Bronners set the cute little animals in downtown only one came up missing and that was number 5 we will be fixing it and moving them someplace safe. Bronners is still there for now as far as last two we were not able to get to the area and see if the stamps were still there will go look this week sometime to let you know.

We only have one complaint. First I want to say I apologize if the clues didn't make sense and you had trouble locating them, and I thank everyone who came to me to ask about it. We did our best to answer all your questions and make sure you got to the right spot. I think I may have made a few too many series to and got a few things a little mixed up. HOWEVER we did have one boxer take one of our stamps and move it to where they assumed we wanted it or "where the clue exactly said it was" and when we went to check it we found it laying in the open on the ground near a tree that had no way of hiding. needless to say we were not happy. Other then that we had an amazing time and greatly appreciate all who came.
