Event Info
We came up with the idea for this day way back in 2006. At first it was a to see if we could break the AQ record for the number of new boxes posted on AQ in one day. And we did! Now we just celebrate for the fun of it! The idea is to get out there on the event day and plant letterboxes in your area. Then post the clues on AQ. So, it's not really a get together, "face-to-face" event. But more of a get together "in-spirit" kind of thing. Just think of all those letterboxers out at the same time on an international planting spree!

Although the widget counts only quantity of letterboxes, concentrate on quality of letterboxes in really interesting locations. Since this is Atlas Quest, I recommend Atlas Obscura https://www.atlasobscura.com/ for some interesting locations. Take your fellow letterboxers to a place beautiful, quirky, profound. Much better one interesting letterbox that makes the finders feel wowed than ten that make them feel meh. Actually the one I have planned for this year is not so much a "wow" experience; it's more of an "awww, isn't that special"
