Description

Come celebrate National Frog Jumping Day with DSA Troop 219 at Bluff Point State Park, Groton, CT, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2018. We are jumping for joy that winter is over! No more frozen letterboxes! They love to hunt for frogs and toads, and, of course, letterboxes, especially around ponds and brooks.

We are planning a Toad Stool Hitch Hiker Hostel, which will later be planted.

Pot Luck Lunch! Details to follow as we get closer. Please bring something to share.

Well behaved dogs are welcome to attend. Please ask us about Dog Scouts of America. Dog Scouts is all about learning new things and promoting responsible pet ownership. There are many trail and outdoor badges and titles to earn – including letterboxing merit badges!
DON’T FROG-ET THE DATE! Wyatt the Frog Prince and Dani aka “Shark Dog” says leap on over to Bluff Point! Don’t forget to bring the clues to Dani’s box, Swimming Like a Duck. New boxes may be planted and listed just prior to the event. Stay tuned!

Apr 14, 2018: One Month Away
We are getting ready for a froggy event! We have new boxes planted at Bluff for a great day of hiking. We will have the basics for a pot luck at the picnic area, please bring a dish to share. Use the pot luck tracker please. See everyone in a month! Rain or shine.

May 8, 2018: Almost Here
We are ready! Are you?

Please bring your PT's and traveling event boxes. We've planted some new boxes at Bluff. We love hitchhikers and cooties and have created a special hotel for this event.

May 9, 2018: Jump for Joy - Dogs Just Wanna Have Fun
Wyatt DSA will be listing his new letterbox hide at Bluff Point Friday night (Atlas Quest), the night before his big event! Be sure to bring the clues! His box will not be very far from the picnic area (just at post #4), so you can take a short walk, log in, and come back for more fun and social time. What do dogs do for fun? Jump and play in the water and chase frogs (if they can find them)! Wyatt DSA says "Can you find the dog chasing the little frog?" He hopes so! See you soon!

May 11, 2018: Saturday's Forcast
We will be set up in the picnic area of Bluff Point. We have a pop up tent to keep stamps and food dry. If you have another one, we can set that up for more room. :-)

Just look for the ladies with all the stamps and the dogs! :-)

May 12, 2018: Thank you coming
Thank you to so many who came in the rain! I enjoyed meeting new boxers, you made our event a great success! Pugglemom and I left the food there for the people who went out boxing. I hope someone took it home!!! Thank you to Burning Feet who brought the extra pop up tents, boy, they were needed and helped keep us dry. Wyatt and I want to find some new boxes, and weather permitting, we will go back tomorrow to box and make sure our area is for sure cleaned up. Safe travels to everyone - until we meet again.
