Description

Is it tacky to throw yourself a birthday party? Maybe, maybe not! What if it's a letterboxing birthday party? Definitely not! Please join me to help celebrate my impending 50th birthday! Over 50 stamps! Lots of birthday, fifty and 1967 related stamps to collect! We will be having some great fun in the beautiful outdoors! Boxing during the day, and then meeting for some dinner, exchanges and more boxes in the evening!

We will be meeting at Rotary Park in Livonia. Approximately 32400 W 6 Mile Road, 1/2 mile west of Merriman Road. After entering the park, bypass the first drive on the right, pass the gate and make a right. I will be at the large green shelter on the right with the clues. I will be around in the morning for sure from 9-11, if you arrive after that, you can text me to meet up and get the clues. (I'll provide number closer to event day)

Boxes will be hidden at Rotary Park(and possibly at Bicentennial Park on 7 mile Road).

Day/lunch: I'm not planning on doing any kind of potluck at the shelter. There are tables available there, though. You can either bring your own food/beverages for the day/lunch or there are also many restaurants available within reasonable distances.

Evening/Dinner: We will be meeting afterwards for a pot luck meal, exchanges, and of course more stamps! (HIPS, table toppers, etc) Donation of $5-8/adult is greatly appreciated for room rental costs. Meeting at the Grande Parlour; 6221 Merriman Rd, Garden City from 5-7:30pm. Meeting hall is about a 10 minute drive from park. Kitchenette has plenty of tables for the pot luck items, several plugs for crock pots, stove if you need to warm things up (they said no cooking though), sink and refrigerator/freezer.

If you would like to bring any HIPS or table topper stamps, please do! I would prefer that they be somewhat theme related, but any others are welcome, too.

The parks are leashed-pet friendly. But, the hall afterwards is not.

Hi there!
I'm almost ready for the event Sunday, planted 26 boxes today! About 7 more to plant tomorrow. :)

Are you excited? There will be 62 stamps to find! I'm convinced that you can all find all of them. PopoBullyGirl thinks I'm too optimistic! (I was planning 50 stamps for 50th bday, but one of the stamps I had donated turned out to be 12! Oops! All the better for you!)

Remember there will be a pot luck at the Grand Parlour following the event, it's about 5 miles South of Rotary Park on Merriman Road. Please sign up for the pot luck! In addition to the great food and company, there will be at least 16 more stamps there, gift bags, exchanges and cake!

The hall has places to plug in crockpots and a stove to heat things up.

We had a great change in the weather in the past couple days. When I checked last week, the weather report indicated it was going to be 32 Sunday! Brrr, latest reports are saying 48ish! Whew! It was very nice out there planting. Unfortunately, the nicer weather means that there are many many people roaming around!

Thanks everyone for making this such a fun birthday and event! I'm glad everyone made it! I didn't hear of any problems with clues, so that's good!

Thanks for all the yummy food and the awesome birthday gifts! You all rock! ;)

The boxes are all listed, except Jackie's two bonus boxes. Those will be up soon.

A few of you logged the treasure boxes before I fixed the listing. (Lalabirds, Angel Winks and Plymouth Seekers). So, you will need to re-log it. New AQ # is 288650.
