Description

It's that time of year when it is cold and snowy and dreary and grey and... perfect for a cozy letterboxing meet up! And what could be better than a library?

For this mini meet, I will be making arrangements for a reserved room based on the number of sign-ups. There will be an event stamp and coordinating stamp series planted around the library. If you want to bring tabletop or event stamps, feel free.

Tentatively, we are booked in the Wentworth Room at the Hamilton Public Library, Central Library in downtown Hamilton. Immediately next door is the Hamilton Farmer's Market, which has delicious eats, and there is the York Parkade across the street to save your cars from the perils of solidified dihydrogen monoxide. Food IS permitted within our meeting room of the library - feel free to bring your own lunch or plan on visiting the Farmer's Market.

The event stamp for this is LARGE and, without spoiling it too much, accommodates the series of stamps for this event. If your logbook isn't 8x10" or larger, I am planning on bringing extra paper so that you can stamp it up for the event. I just wanted to let those of you picky stampers know just in case you wanted to make other arrangements :)

The event will be puzzle-style with stamps hidden temporarily around the library. Clues will be provided at the event.

Hello everyone,

I'm really looking forward to Saturday! I'm happy to confirm that we are confirmed for the Wentworth Room at the Central Library: you can find it on the first floor, at the very back on the right-hand side.

The room we are in permits food and drink, so feel free to bring your own coffee or nibbles. I highly recommend picking up lunch next door at the Farmer's Market - there are amazing food places there - and hey, one of the letterboxes in the event series might actually be at my favourite food stall... who knows? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Clue books will be provided at the event, but please: the librarians are unaware of the presence of the letterboxers within the library AND this is a very busy library with many patrons. Your stealthiest boxing abilities will be needed for this event!

Finally, the "Not on Shelves" theme: since we are in a library, this series is created based on books that we know from books/movies/tv but that don't actually exist in real life. This is very much a library-themed event, so I hope you enjoy!
