Description

We are bringing it back! Not sure if a theme yet, if you have any ideas feel free to let us know. We are hoping to get the platform area by the beach so we will have shade and plenty of room. So maybe a beach theme to start. It will be bring your own picnic, though there are food trucks there as well. Port a potties will be close by as well.
Raffles as well!

Jan 3, 2017: Come fly a kite - Carvers Needed
Hello everyone! Happy New Year!

So with the event just over 6 months away, we are looking for carvers for the event. We are doing two series. Things in the ocean...., such as jellyfish, whales, seals, etc. There is a list on the event page. Plus there is going to be a series of things used on the water, such as,....

Feb 7, 2017: Come fly a kite event - Date change
We are going to have to change the date of the event. The area we want is not available in July. We wanted to make sure that we had a good area with some shade and be able to use canopies. The new date is August, 12th. It will be down by the beach on the cement platform. There will be about 10 to 12 picnic tables that will be available on that platform. Canopies are allowed on the platform ONLY. We are renting this area, and there will be raffles to help off set the cost. Any raffle donations will be accepted.

Mar 14, 2017: Come fly a kite - Carvers Needed
So we still need more carvers. We have 8 more stamps that need to be carved for the event.

Thank you to those of you that have carved already, the stamps look great!

We are also in need of raffles items to help off set the price of the area that we are getting for the event. Anything will be accepted.

May 22, 2017: 2017 Come Fly A Kite Event
Hey all....
here we are about 3 mo the before the event. There are a few things we need cover.

1. We are going to be down near the beach. As you pull into the park, take the first left. We have the area near the beach. There are BBQ pits to use. There are about 10 picnic tables as well. This is a picnic event.
2. There is no alcohol allowed in the park.
3. We are going to have some games. TBD
4. We are going to have rock coloring for the kids.
5. We need to know if you are interested in a t-shirt and sizes, your choice of ink color. Whatever color receives the most vote, that is what it will be. If there is enough interest, we will have them.
6. Canopies are allowed in our area.
7. There are toilets nearby.
8. Plenty of parking.
9. We are looking for raffle donations if you are interested in donating.

Aug 9, 2017: Come fly a kite event
Hi everyone!

Three days left till the event. Just a few things. We will have clues that morning for you. We are on the platform down by the beach. Canapies are allowed in that area only. Hopefully we won't need them at all. Shouldn't have any rain that day as of now.

There are picnic tables on the platform. Plus picnic tables around that area if you get there early enough. There is even some charcoal grills there as well, just bring your own charcoal. There are a couple of food trucks as well. Or just bring a picnic. There are plenty of places to eat around the area.

Plenty of raffle items. We will have paint markers for anyone that wants to paints rocks and leave or take them. There are some there as well to find.

Mud will also have clues for you to print as of Thursday or Friday.

Port o potties close by. Plus I think there is now a small play area close by. Dogs welcome on leash.

We think that's everything.
