Der Mad Stamper and Choi are planning another "We Live and Breathe" retreat to celebrate the FIFTEENTH ANNIVERSARY of American letterboxing at Grotonwood camp in Groton MA on Labor Day weekend of 2013. Reservations are still open at We Live and Breathe XV website. We'll need to receive a reservation form, signed waivers and payment (check or PayPal) to confirm your reservation.

For those who aren't familiar with the concept, this will not be your typical gathering. It won't be a potluck at a park, or an overnighter in a campground. "Live and Breathe" is more like summer camp for letterboxers except you won't put scheduled from one activity to the next; you decide what you'd like to do! It will be an extra-long weekend jam-packed full of letterboxing madness and mayhem. Activities similar to the first retreat are being considered, including a fireside talent show, nightboxing, and a masquerade ball. This is going to be another one of those events that you just have to experience to really understand!

The event will be limited to 180 overnight visitors with the 3-Day Overnight Package. Price for the event is $225 Adult (13 and up), $125 Youth (7 - 12), and children free. A cabin bunk bed and meals from Friday night through Monday breakfast are included. The dinner Friday night will be a BBQ at 7 PM at the picnic area at the center of camp; other meals will be in the cafeteria.

There will be limited space available for RV parking. There are no RV hookups. Tent camping will also be available but limited. RV and tent camping are the same fee as the 3-day overnight package. Campfires are only allowed in designated group fire pits. Please request RV or tent camping when you register.

Up to 200 day-trippers will be allowed for the event; the day-tripper price is $40 Adult, $25 Youth and children free. Day-tripper visitors will have full access to the camp and event from 8 AM to 10 PM Saturday and Sunday. Meals are not included, except you are welcome to attend the Friday night BBQ at no additional cost. We do request that you let us know if you'll be coming for the BBQ so that we can plan accordingly. There is a large area of picnic tables in the center of camp for exchanges and picnicking. Day-trippers are welcome to arrange their own informal potluck lunches.

Most of the letterboxes for the event will only be available during the event, at the request of Grotonwood Camp.

PLEASE NOTE: RSVPing here on AtlasQuest will NOT reserve your space at this event. This page just helps us communicate with people that might be interested in attending or contributing boxes. Once all the details have been worked out, a registration form will be posted on the official event website. Your position on the event will be used to help resolve "ties" on the day that the event fills.

It will NOT be possible to 'just drop in' or pay at the door for this event... even for the locals. Every attendee will need to be pre-registered before the event.

Please contact Choi if you'd like to contribute a box to a series to reserve your subject. It's never too early to send us a box for the event, but the big push will come during the spring/summer of 2013. We'd like to receive complete boxes ready to plant, but every box doesn't require a log book; we'll only want a couple log books per series. Please plan to provide return postage if you'd like your box returned and can't pick it up at the event, otherwise we'll find a permanent home for it in New England.

Jun 8, 2013: Yarn Bombing at Live and Breathe
There has been some interest in Yarn Bombing a tree at Live and Breathe. But we will need some help!! I would like to collect knitted or crocheted squares, scraps, and Flowers whatever you can contribute would be awesome.This is not restricted to folks attending the event. Especially, if you are not able to attend, send a little something And we will stitch them together on a tree at the event! Only six weeks left until We Live and Breathe Letterboxing XV!

We still have 20 to 30 spots left for overnight guests (depending on how many beds we have to leave empty to accommodate people) and tons of spots left for Daytrippers.

If you've sent in your registration and fee you should have received an invite to the Attendees group that will let you sign up for the attendees only event.
