Took me a while to find this. It's been 9 years since it was planted and landmarks like scorched and fallen trees can change over time. Glad I persevered and found it! It's a beautiful carve.

The Pepper box is alive and well and waiting patiently for finders!

Holy cow I really need to go out with an experienced boxer... I read WAY to much into the clues... Thanks had my 3 yr old grandson with me he did awesome !!!

A lot of the scorched tree limbs have fallen, so it was more difficult to recognize. But the real difficulty was when we found the letterbox . . . in the middle of a nest of big ants! We disturbed them and they started quickly hauling their eggs away, then I used rubber gloves to pick up the box without getting bit.

We're pretty sure that we were in the right spot. Just couldn't find anything. The boys were getting tired too. We'll try again.

Much harder to find than what we're used to, but had a blast figuring it out.

I was close to sunset when I started down the trail. So I took my head lamp just incase. I got back with plenty of light, but the sky was getting pretty pink.
