Well, the good news is that you will NOT have to deal with any unbearable bragging from me or honeychile. This is the only clue you get as to where we were.

Highlights of the day included:
-- honeychile's willingness to fake a medical emergency to get out of a boring conversation (honestly, I was about ready to gnaw off a leg to get away from this historian that trapped us out at a plantation we were investigating! I had no idea there was that much boring info in one person's head!).

--counting off endless paces while turning right and left looking liking robots on a field and not getting anywhere

--road blocks-- TONS of them-- her GPS was VERY irritated with us!

--Going around and around in cycles on the same road loop-- we thought we were in the movie "Ground Hog Day"!

--cemetery that we attempted to go to was LOCKED (had had a brick wall and barbed wire on it!

-- and discovering what happens when a letterboxer attempts to mess with geocacher technology:

I guess there is a reason I'm a letterboxer-- that stuff just spontaneously explodes in my hands! Oh, and the CLUES were on that thing too!!

I was going to post a "SAD FACE", but I think this is just a delay, not a BUST.
I don't know about Honeychile, but YOU, my friend, are like a BULLDOG. I suspect you won't let go of this until you FIND it.
We're glad to not have to listen to the bragging TODAY, but we know it's just been postponed. LOL It will inevitably come.

Absolutely! It's always about the adventure for me! I also confess to wanting honeychile all to myself to pump her for geocaching hiding secrets-- and I got a few good ones. *nodding* The hunt for a rare box was really just the bait to lure her out. ;)

Mama Wolf is quite a good sport. And no, she did not bring about the demise of the poor PDA, that was what happens when I get in a hurry and leave it atop the car only to topple off later while we are most inconveniently traveling at near light speed. I have some interesting plans for the remains. And since it was old enough to still be available in the eBay hall of fame, I have already snagged another to accommodate my addiction, er, that is my hobby.

We did manage to find every detour, traffic jam, block party, and wino available in the wide swath we cut through three states. We're quite proud of that.

And regarding the brain plundering, it was I who did that to the oh-so-oblivious lupine mater. While she thought she was prying and teasing out my secrets, I was discovering the dark and complicated side of letterboxing. I bugged the car and am transcribing and studying that arcane information even now. Muhahaha. As Devendra Banhart sings,

Well, if you are gonna be truthful and let everyone know that I don't have the power to blow up technology (although 2 PDA batteries have died on me and one was lost so I'm still thinking I had something do to with the demise of yours) then you at least have to finish the story about how we were dodging traffic to get it! Yep, it had to fly into the road on a bridge with almost no edge of the road!! We made 2 attempts from different directions and had to walk quite a way (there was no place to pull over) to find out it was destroyed.

I had to laugh at how ridiculous it was that we were spending more time looking for our clues than the actual boxes!! LOL!

Thank you for the warning not to let you near my PDA. I have had several "die" on me - got the stack here to prove it. But I don't think I have ever had one blow a top off like that one.
