Wait now...what? I'm not new. ;-)

Ok. So what are a few things in your stash that you can't live without? If you were going to suggest to a new LTC maker what they should have on hand to start making ltc's what is your short list?

I'll start.

I love a good paper cutter. I love my white tombow glue. White cardstock. I have been using my Mini Ink Blending SET on most of my cards this year. Even if you didn't notice I know the difference when I'm creating my set of cards - one card done with it and one without look substantially different.

If you are asking for foundation supplies, then
SHARP tools-both for paper and rubber carving.
Good carving material
Clean transfer of crisp image
Versafine ink

I cannot speak beyond this because each carve and card takes me to different art supplies which suit the project....my list would be way too long if I go beyond the above items.

Can't live without?

Definitely my papercutter. I remember trying to cut paper to size cards using scissors. That was a chore.

Versafine Vintage Sepia ink, and StazOn Jet Black Ink or Versafine Onyx Black. I get more use out of those inks than all my others combined.

Chalks. Not the stick kind. The powdered kind that comes in a palette and looks like eye shadow. I can do an awful lot with them.

Colored pencils. I love the control I get coloring with pencils.

I'll be different and say cream colored parchment cardstock . It makes a great basic background and can be used for almost as many things as plain white.

I love my Strathmore mixed media paper. Tombow glue and a bone folder! Small paper cutter, cutting mat, Xacto knife for fussy cutting. Watercolors in some form (palette, watercolor pencils, watercolor markers), and a nice fine paintbrush for details. Versafine and Stazon ink and re-inkers. Heat gun for a number of uses, and clear embossing powder. Sandpaper or some kind of file for distressing. Good lighting.

Bonus items that I don't want to live in a world without:
pretty handmade papers, distress oxides (I mostly use them as watercolors), a fine mister/spritzer for water, glossy accents and crackle, masking fluid (only used for a couple cards but it's excellent), glimmer mist, daubers/blending tool, a couple good gel pens, and my trusty white charcoal pencil.

I usually buy textured scrapbook paper singles and things like copics or colored ink pads as I go for specific cards I'm making.

I agree! I love seeing all of the beautiful LTC’s from you all! I am so amazed every time I open an envelope full of cards.

One thing I’m surprised that no one has mentioned, which happens to be my all-time favorite and I use it all the time....the Tim Holtz stamp platform. I love that thing! Every card is lined up perfectly every time. It’s amazing.

Other than that, I use pretty most of what was already listed. However, I’ve never used crackle or masking fluid. I think I’ll have to look those up and see what those are all about!! 😉
