Illinois hits the 200 mark this year so why not have a virtual event? If you have lived in Illinois, have a relative here, flown over Illinois, know where Illinois is, or if you like cardinals or Monarch butterflies, or have ever heard of Betty White or Abraham Lincoln, you are eligible to sign up for this event.

Our event is called: Party Like It's 199 + 1 and it is listed for September 15th but boxes can be now or later. It is always a good day to plant a letterbox!

We would like for our letterboxing friends to plant a box related to Illinois history, firsts, famous people, vacation spot, music, etc. during 2018 in a location you select. Please call it “Illinois Bicentennial: "YOUR TITLE” and plant it between the day you sign up and December 1 in 2018. Our wonderful pastime should be a part of this celebration so more boxes are available to those who wish to seek them.

Send me an AQ mail with the name and number of your box and the plant date. I will update the event listing to reflect that another box has been planted. There are already 4 active boxes so anytime is the right time!
