We're up on the Iron Range, and good to know, if it's not marked snow friendly... it's not. srsly. not.

We FOUND one that hasn't been found for over 5 years, but it was in a solid block of ice, frozen to a boulder! How do we know? All the sticks were lined up going in the same direction, all right where they were supposed to be... all embedded in solid ice.

We broke our trowel, trying to get it out, skootch fell knee-deep (rather suddenly and unexpectedly) in snow all at once (apparently there was a ditch hidden under the snow...). Gonna come back in summer. bummer.

There is an upside, though!

skootch just said we get to go somewhere and have poutine for breakfast!!!
