Tonight's finale was one of the best in TV history. Tony Shaloub (Monk) was written in this last season and he was amazing. What a role, what an actor. And Edie Falco as Jackie--total humanitarian and competent professional that you couldn't help but despise in some ways. Who writes and plays a role like that? Genius! Merrit Weaver as Zoey was my favorite.

What a spectacular show. We will miss it.

Tony Shaloub is just a wonderful actor. Love him and I also like that he and Brooke Adams have (what seems to be) a great marriage!

.I've watched every episode of every season and I was horribly disappointed. And the failed overdose at the end didn't make any sense to me.

I really liked Dr. Prince in this season and his "waiting in the waiting room".

The rest of it seemed rushed, disjointed and not authentic...at all. It was as though the writers themselves grew tired of the show and just up and decided to end it. Meh.

Let's see, her fiancé is going to prison, Zoey isn't going with her to Bellview, her BBF is certainly going to wash her hands of her. . . and, for what it's worth, we don't think it was a "failed" overdose. I think they wanted us to wonder. . .

Exactly!! It was all very hurried. Let's spend three minutes here. Done. Three minutes here. Done. That's an awful lot to pack into 30 minutes with virtually no actual plot line leading up to events. They all seemed like convenient endings not thoughtful ones that we are used to seeing. Zoe leaving her to go pursue her dreams? Meh. Eddie going to prison? Not even Eddie seemed phased by it.

And if you look up any articles from the writers, (I did looking for some semblance of an explanation for such a shoddy finale), while us as viewers are supposed to "wonder", they did consider it a failed attempt. I would have been a hell of a lot happier had they killed her in an OD.

I didn't like it, at all. You did. *shrug* We can apply the theory for letterboxes -- not all boxes are for all people. Not all finales are for all people.
