I'm a little concerned. I've only seen one preview so maybe I'm wrong, but has anyone seen the tardis? It almost looks like its been turned into an actual spaceship. Mess with the doctor, I get it, he/she changes all the time. Mess with the inside of the tardis great, but don't mess with the little blue box. Again maybe I'm wrong though.

Hmmm. If the chameleon aspect was finally fixed it wouldn’t be a surprise tho a disappointment. But that doesn’t sound like what you meant

I just read and article about the changes. The outside ones do t sound any more severe than changes made in the last. The inside changes with every doctor.

I think the spaceship shown in the trailer may just be one that the group ends up on. I honestly feel that the little blue box is too much of an icon for them to mess with to the extent of fixing the chameleon circuit. :-)

The Sixth Doctor did try fixing the chameleon circuit, but it didn't last long:

I think that the Fourth Doctor did too, but I don't have the video proof like you provided.

I'm sure they wouldn't get rid of the TARDIS's exterior. It's so iconic the BBC successfully won the copyright for the design from the police. They know they would have a fan riot on their hands.

I can understand your worry though--I would be pretty upset if they changed something so fundamental to Doctor Who! (I even get attached to iconic aspects of individual Doctors. I loved Matt Smith's regeneration scene, but when he pulled off the bowtie and just dropped it on the floor, I completely lost it. I had managed to hold the tears back until that moment!)

I think that the Fourth Doctor did too

He attempted to in Logopolis, even measuring the exterior's "37 dimensions" with Adric, however it failed when The Master began to interfere with the stability of N-space.

You may also be thinking of the secondary console room that shows up in a handful of scenes in seasons 14 and 15, including Sarah Jane's farewell.

Similar to the 50th Anniversary special, 13's first episode will be simulcast across the world so everyone will see it at the same time. It will air at 7:45 PM London time, which is 1:45 PM Eastern and 10:45 AM Pacific.

I no longer have any sort of TV service, so I plan to try out a free trial of YouTube TV for the first episode. At $40 a month, it will have to be really great in order for me to keep it, but it's worth a try.

It's interesting that they are trying to limit Spoilers like that. Unfortunately I will be driving home from an event at that time any won't be able to watch it "live". (I also don't own a TV so I will also be doing a free trial of a streaming service.

...and you have Amazon Prime, you can watch the Rifftrax versions of several of the non-canon Dr. Who movies starring Peter Cushing. Some of the differences are a little hard to get past (The TARDIS doesn't make the noise!), but the Rifftrax commentary is well worth it.

Don't post any spoilers, you! I bought the season on Amazon already but I don't know if Amazon would have it at the same time. I'm probably going to have to wait until Sunday.

I actually liked it. I wasn't so sure, cause I was not a big fan of hers in Broadchurch. I thought she did a pretty good job and they didn't make it all about her being a woman. It was mentioned but kind of an afterthought kind of thing. I did think for a while that thing was the tardis all melted down. Glad to see it wasn't.

It was humorous when the Doctor wanted to know why they were calling her a she and did it fit her

I read somewhere that Broadchurch cramped Whittaker’s style and she was thrilled when she could be herself

I really liked her speech about change:

We’re all capable of the most incredible change. We can evolve, while still saying true to who we are. We can honor who we’ve been and choose who we want to be next.

It fits the story and the spirit of the Doctor to try to convince the villain to change, plus on a meta level I feel like she’s talking to the fans, especially calling out those who are upset that she’s now a woman.

Is anyone else thinking “It’ll be fine” is going to be her new catchphrase?

I plan to add some new stamps to my TARDIS. But I’m considering rehoming her next year. She’s rather large to mail so ships in the night or local would be best choices. When I say large we’re talking two feet tall with blinky light (batteries required). Her many stamps would be included and ownership transferred.

Who is interested in becoming a companion of the TARDIS and why you? What kind of traffic and travels would she get? PM me if you don’t want to answer here.

I just watched it on bbc America for free. There was a bit more commercials than I'd like, but hey, it's free.

I opted to get it thru Amazon because I don’t subscribe to cable television and therefore don’t have access to BBC America.

Sorry, I should have mentioned bbc America online.
It's on the Internet. I don't have any cable/satellite or even an antina anymore.

Interesting. When I went to bbc America online it said to watch full episodes you needed to name your cable provider and if your plan included bbc. I wonder if it’s like what they’ve done with other shows. You get the first and maybe rescind episode and then you have to pay

New Years

Yes, Jodie Whittaker got fewer episodes for a typical "Doctor Woke Who" serial (what we would call a season), and was downgraded to a New Year's episode. Several reviewers think that Chris Chibnall has succeeded in killing the Doctor.
