Dick Blick has a new material to replace the old 'grey stuff' (which was very rubbery). This material is two layered, with a grey half about 1/8 thick and a white half about 1/16 inch thick. Available in numerous sizes. Cost point is similar to pink, and more expensive than the old rubbery grey. Texture is similar to pink stuff, but copies do not transfer using the iron/heat method.

https://www.dickblick.com/products/blick-readycut/

Will let you know if I like it better than my default pink.

I carve different materials for different things. Pink if I want something pretty, fairly good detail and a quick carve. OZ if I want SUPER detail and don't mind applying extra time carving and pressure. Tan Z if I want something that prints FANTASTICALLY with my press and relief inks. This stuff if I want to use my press and carve quickly. It's sort of a cross between lino and pink, but it doesn't like stamping inks. It carves like a dream.

So, that stuff is used where linoleum would be used?

I think so, but it is MUCH more pleasant than lino.

Oh my gosh yes! I got this in June of 2014, would love to see what this has been up to. Back when I got it, I made a color copy of your map and placed it in a plastic sleeve in my logbook. It’s still there with my “footprints”!

This looks a lot like the unmounted Richeson easy to cut lino that I got from Utrecht. The picture on Utrecht's site is lighter than the lino is in person.

I found it easy to carve, but tough to pull prints by hand. Lots of cleanup of the chatter before printing. What press do you have?

Before the big AQ update a while back there used to be under 'people' dropdown a 'find letterboxer' that had the alphabet. If you didn't know how to spell a boxers name correctly you could narrow it down by just going to the beginning letter. NOW under 'find letterboxer' only a window to type a name and if the name isn't exact it can't be found. BUT someone showed me AQ on their phone the other day and she had what I'm talking about. Is there anyway to bring that back or am I missing something?

It's still there...
Click on the "People" menu at the top. In the People page, there is a button near the top for "Browse Members".

Optional subsequent steps:
Click on "W". Go to the 3rd page. Scroll down about 2/3 of the page. Bask in the glory.

I couldn't think of anyone else I would want to box with - we're the perfect team! It's always such fun, even in blizzard and monsoon. Mama's been there for me in some dark times and I appreciate her more than she knows. Here's to many, many more adventures together!

Is every day a (certain color)-Cat Appreciation Day? (Because I'm good with that.)

I've never had a ginger cat, but there's a ginger tabby I met once that I very nearly adopted on the spot--he just looked at me quietly and diffidently as if he wanted very much to get some petting but didn't want to be a bother, and I felt an instant connection to him. If my apartment at the time had allowed pets, I don't think I could have said no.

I'm very happy with my wonderful black cat now, but every so often I think of Beverwyck and hope he found a happy home where he gets as much petting as he wants.

I picked up a small slab of that material from Dick Blick. Absolutely do not do a wash of acetone on it! The acetone essentially melts the material. I'm not sure how to use it at this point.
2 stamps/one box

Is there a way to list a box with two stamps with different carvers, but not specifically a series or planted in different locations?

I don't want it to show up as 2 finds in someone's book since it's only in one box. But, I want both carvers to get credit for their individual stamps.

I may plant the 2nd as a bonus box to alleviate this problem. But, it's for an event and none of the other boxes will have bonuses. Not that that is a big deal, I just don't really want to do it.

I have pretty much used all the things (this month! Haha). I bought some different versions of the layered Japanese things, one was too soft. I had issued getting transfers on it, too.

My faves are the orange and white PZ, OZ and then Tan-Z. Tan-Z is firm enough to get detail but has a consistency I'm not sure I love right now. It is easy to carve, though. The crazy-grey is okay, but I'm glad she got some more improvements. Pink is WAY to soft for me to carve any amount of detail.

Pretty sure the short answer is unfortunately no, you cannot list more than one person as the official carver.
