So sorry I missed the notice. Must have been all the aches and pains after running a half-marathon on Sunday. It's an excuse, albeit a crummy one. Hope you had a wonderful day and congrats!

p green frog, team ww, and I are holding sessions around our area to increase awareness for our favorite hobby. We hope to increase the number of letterboxers in our area. We hope more people are aware of letterboxing and hope they do the right thing if they accidentally find a letterbox in the woods or around town. Homer Lake is where we are holding Homerdoodle 2018. Here is what we are posting:

Looking for a new adventure? Wanting to learn about an outdoor activity you can enjoy with friends or your family? Experienced letterboxers will be speaking about Letterboxing at the St. Joe Library on Thursday, March 8, from 4:30 to 6:00 (217-469-2159) and at Homer Lake Interpretive Center on Wednesday, March 14 from 1:00 to 2:30 ((217)896-2455). This is a free and informative. All you have to do is call the phone numbers to register. There will be additional sessions held in April and May as well.

We also know that letterboxers must plant as well as find to keep this all going. Check out letterboxes near Urbana, IL if you are looking for a letterboxing trip.

Agreed! Great event and great time! The Michigander didn't get drenched, but awfully muddy! Had a blast and grateful to meet so many new friends!

Yes, a wonderful event organized by wonderful boxers!

I found my 800th box, 7 deer, 2 herons, a fast moving turtle, and squished around in 2 pairs of wet, muddy socks. It was a blast!

The event was not only a home run, but a grand slam home run. Thank you all for the tremendous effort that went into planning and producing this winner! (And thank goodness for an inside building with air conditioning.)

Thanks to TeachJR, p green frog, teamww, Tyson’s mom, Interpretus Maximus, nanciebabie, spaceGal, Mr. TeachJR, the carvers, and everyone who helped make Homerdoodle 2018 a great time! We were grateful to be indoors at the the Salt Fork Center during the storm. We enjoyed visiting and stamping while waiting for the weather to clear and the trails were worth the wait. The playscape was a fun place to unwind at the end of the day.

Homerdoodle was close enough for us to visit Lake of the Woods and confirm the clue for one of our old plants from 2007. All that was left of the letterbox was the bottom of the box, so we removed it and retired the listing. Still, we enjoyed the walk and a brief detour for a few rounds of Pooh Sticks with teeny tiny branches. The grumpy weather gave us a break that was just long enough for those activities.

WOW! You guys really nailed this one-so well organized and every last detail was covered by the excellent team of hosts, all run by TeachJR-you all deserve a standing O! I just wanted to send a quick thank-you to all of you who made the day such a fun success, and to let you know that all your hard work and planning is so much appreciated; I was only there for a short time but felt like I got a LOT of fun packed in there! And thanks to all my fellow boxing buddies who remembered my birthday and went all-out to make my day extra-special! It's enough of a treat to have a boxing event fall on a birthday, but the extra celebrating was super-fun! Homerdoodle is a really special and wonderful event, and I hope it will continue to be an Illinois tradition for many years to come!

Everyone who worked so long and hard on this Event to make it perfect deserves a very loud and long applause. Thanks so very much

I echo so much of what so many other boxers have said... it was a truly wonderful event with something for everyone! Really enjoyed the trails, the people, the fun, the stamps and the memories. Thank you for a wonderful Homerdoodle weekend!
