At the event, I wasn't sure how elite I was because there were a stinkin' LOT of us there. Not that it was a surprise, but I got home and immediately started thinking about all the people I didn't manage to meet - like you :( It was great though - I'm glad to be among the elite that managed to make it there!

I'm so elitist, I dropped out of this group years ago. For some reason, I still get daily updates (guess I screwed up the 'dropping out' part.)

Awww... do you need a hug?
Not getting it from me!
But if it makes you feel any better, at least your boxes don't suck!

You know, I can hear you in here too!
I kind of liked the quiet in here since at least there was no whining or trolling. But a little 'ol fashioned snobbery or sarcasm might be a nice change.

What's with all the kerfuffle?
I thought this was a place for dignified verbal intercourse.
I'll be on the yacht if you want me for anything.

Our mission Statement
Board: Elitist Club
Nov 30, 2015 2:21pm
This club is for people who don't particularly enjoy tabletop boxes, and would happily pass them over if it meant more time to talk and exchange with others. It's for people who will happily drive-by a drive-by box on their way to a box that requires a 10-mile hike. It's for people who have better things to do than surf the message boards and talk about letterboxing—such as getting out and doing some letterboxing! It's for people who have ever been accused of being 'elitist' or 'snobs.' It's for people who feel that their logbooks are nobody's business but your own. If you've ever bad-mouthed a store-bought stamp, you might be elitist.
It's for people.... just like me.
just thinking about you.

While I won't bypass a drive-by, I will bless it's heart.

And I won't pass up HIPS for talking, I'll pass them up in order to get every trail box at a gathering.

Not really me unless it's an obvi. Some drive bys have been quite engaging.
Can I pass by both?

Found a couple of those recently and had the same visceral reaction. OTH it was fun to find some boxes with enough staying power for the old grey stuff to degrade that far.

I'll join you in the stamp snob club. I recently hiked pretty far out to discover a stamp made with a 3D printer. It was neat to finally see something made with a 3D printer, but the hard plastic material made for a disappointing stamp.

It seems to me that if you wanna use a 3D printer to make a stamp, it should be to use the 3D printer to make the mold for the stamp, and then pour some rubber stuff into the mold, let it set, and peel it out. Throw the mold away, so there's only one stamp with that design.
