Quote Quality ALWAYS outweighs quantity : )

Most Definitely - Quality is the key!!! "Skimping" is not in the letterboxing dictionary!
Quote I think striving for the best in both states makes for a much better goal than to outplant each others states...

Yes indeed. Always strive for your best. Here's an idea - How about everyone try planting "out of state" next year! That could be fun!!! :o)
ALL the New England states did a great job of adding new boxes for everyone to enjoy! We are lucky to have such a great bunch of letterboxers around here!!!

Thanks again to all the planters,

As I sit here making a box, I'd just like to thank you for reminding us all of that. Even though it's only an "ok" box by my own standards, I'm trying agaaaain. The 1st 2 attempts weren't worthy of putting my name on.

Love it! How about if all the New Englanders, South Easterners and PNWers come to the "middle states" and plants yourselves silly so we can begin to dream of the boxes per square whatever that ya'll are so fortunate to have!

I'll buy the beer! You won't need much here in the Colorado. The altitude-y will do ya in.

hehe

Truthfully, we almost didn't get out and get that box planted, but we knew we had committed by "signing up" and we just can't "miss" an event . . . WHEW! So glad we made it. Next year, that series of 30 will have to get out there in Mass -- then we'll plan one in RI or some other little New England state . . . ;)

Quote I think I am surprised that NH didnt have more!
especially with all the talent new and older emerging there as well....

That's how I felt! :D When I look back at the newbies I know though, now that I think about it I may have MET them in NH but they might have been FROM Maine. :D I think they should just count Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts as one big state. Then we would've taken it. :D

Quote LOL! You guys from Maine are such a Hoot!! (Not talkin' about you Gollygee - you're a "WooHoot"!!!)
Of course WE'll get it next year! This is the Letterboxing Massachusetts board, right??? I agree 100%!!!!!!!!

..... Thanks for posting! :o)

Ha! Woohoot indeed! :D

Perhaps there should be some sort of boxes to letterboxers ratio tally. And whichever state has the highest actual boxes per letterboxer wins. :D Because Massachusetts has Boston! There's no competing with that! :D Manchester? Um, no. Portsmouth rules but it's tiny. And Portland... I mean really. :D I've lived in all three states and I love them all, though. :)

That's funny because last year littlmoon and I both planted in the states we grew up in (she in NH and me in ME), and then this year planted in the states we live (she in ME and me in NH). :D Maybe we'll both have to plant boxes in Massachusetts next year! :D

I'd love to take you up on that, pre, but with the cost of fuel right now... :( Tell you what, if work sends me your way for whatever reason, I'll plant as many as I possibly can! :)

You buy, we fly???
VERY tempting indeed!!! :o)

It's not a good time of year for us to travel, but we could do a box exchange for planting! I'd definitely be up for that!!!

Here in New England, we're all winners when it comes down to available letterboxes! :o)

Boston is a fantastic city, but most of the boxes are in the "burbs". You just may have more planted in Portsmouth or Portland!

No, Not a challenge - Just a friendly competition!

"Competition is good for letterboxing business".

The more the merrier MK!!! But you already know that based on the number of your plantings! :o)

Now that you mention it - I'd LOVE a "New England" board. All our states "combined" would cover less area than other states alone! Seriously - I can be in any of six states here in less than one hour - (NH in 15 minutes, VT might be pushing it). Just a tad longer and we can hit NY too! :o)

When T3 had a 100 Day project, kids had to bring in 100 of something. She brought in a poster of 100 Letterbox stamp images. They were all in our house . . . you are right about that carve-o-matic! Any donations of pink stuff or white PZ-cut are always accepted!

I actually asked Ryan about creating a New England board and he gave me a good reason why he couldn't... I deleted the email though so I don't remember precisely what the reason was. I think it had to do with creating a lot of extra boards if we had regional ones... Plus there would be overlap because we would have to keep the state-specific boards... Ryan if you're reading feel free to correct me. :D

Yes - If Ryan started a Regional board here, then someone would want a southeast, southwest, midwest, northwest or some other variation like that. I think that was the reason. Still, it WOULD be nice! :o)
