I don't think there is anyone active in that area. If I'm wrong, somebody please raise your hand.

Maybe Road Junkies or Geometry Junkie? Both from Georgia and have/had boxes in Savannah.

We’re in the Atlanta area, but Super Hedge Hoggie is in Savannah, I believe.

It's been a couple of years since I've looked in that area, wasn't much of an adventure.

I'll be visiting a friend in Brunswick the week of 1/21 but will be staying in Savannah. I was wondering if there would be any interest in a mini-meet. But if there is no one around....

It looks like the active boxes are few and far between. There *are* some though. Hopefully they will still be there in January. I expect some have been flooded out?

Maybe I'll post a mini-meet and see what happens. I'd hate to post it and no one sign up because there's no one there. lol :(

I can always eat my way around Savannah and visit graveyards. Two of my favorite things. And I wanted to get out of New York a bit during the bleak month of January. That's a plus.

Bonaventure is one of my favorite cemeteries, and several boxes have been planted there. I'm not sure of current status. And Super Hedge Hoggie is indeed from Savannah, so perhaps you can meet up with her. (Sorry I forgot that).

FYI: Savannah is the site of Fort Pulaski. Fort Pulaski was constructed by the US government as coast defense, designed to withstand assault for 30 days. At the onset of the Civil War, the people of Savannah came out and commandeered it for the Confederacy. Later, the Union forces attacked it with their newfangled rifled cannon and breached its walls in 8 hours. This event spelled the end of forts worldwide, they stopped constructing them and the existing ones gradually became museum pieces.

I live in Savannah but I think I'm the only letterboxer living here! Yes, there are letterboxes in the area -- I've planted 18 boxes myself in and around Savannah this year. There are still a few older boxes here, too, planted by people who were passing through.
