Sheba, Idlemoon, Firecat and I hunted some mystery boxes in SE PA, but we got an early Friday start so that we could enjoy morning traffic. ;-)

On Your Way to Boxtoberfest?

Hello All,
Shameless self-promotion here. I have planted two boxes in Flemington, NJ, which is right off of Hwy 202 (about 30 minutes away from Washington Crossing). I hope some of you will have time to find my boxes. They are both drive-bys, but I am particularly fond of the one I planted in the bookstore downtown, and probably my best effort overall so far.
When I am back in the area again, I hope to plant some more. I have some areas scoped out, and ideas bouncing around in my head.
Have a marvelous event!

Heading to the D. C. area

Woodshed and Taken to the Woodshed are headed to the D. C. area on Dec 26th. We are coming to that area to celebrate a family members 50th wedding anniversary. We've set aside some time to letterbox. We'd love to meet some locals during our time there. We land at Ronald Regan on the 26th and leave on the 1st. We are staying in a Residence Inn in Manassas Battlefield Park. If interested in meeting up, let me know.

I would love to meet you since I’m about an hour from DC and we’ve been part of so many swaps and rings together! However, I’ll be away visiting family during this period of time. Darn! I hope you come back this way another time. Enjoy your visit with family and the boxing!

Just a reminder that Yahoo Groups is going away very soon! At one time, there was a very active mid-atlantic group called lbma. Back in the stone age, that is all we had. It was a way to connect with other crazy letterboxing obsessive types. So check out https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/search?query=lbma There a lots of pictures and files you may want to peruse, there may be a clue or two :) But remember you only have 2 weeks and poof gone forever!
Ridley Creek tornado
Board: Region: Mid-Atlantic
Apr 24, 2021 1:15pm
Went out today to do some box maintenance but checked Alltrails before I went out for a map. Anyway there was a mention of a tornado in 2019 that hit Hunting hill in Ridley. OMG! Hundreds of trees down. It is hard to put into words the devastation. To my knowledge there were only 2 boxes on this trail, I think they are gone. I don’t why I didn’t know about this.
Favorite boxes in the region?

Hello! I am a relatively new letterboxer (started early this year) and I was wondering what are people's favorite boxes in the region? I don't mind going on a bit of a trip for something good!

A few years back while traveling from Philly to Parkton, MD, I went through Amish country and did some boxing along the way. The ones that stand out in my mind were planted by idlemoon for Blue Delft. These boxes were not simple grabs...there was puzzling and mystery involved. But the effort was SO worth it...beautiful boxes and beautiful stamps. And it was so sweet to read about their friendship and get to know them a bit through the clues (:

Eastern Shore of Maryland

Hello, I'm hoping to find a boxer that is located near the eastern shore of Maryland.
I'm going to be planting a stamp that is very important to me and I'm hoping that I can find someone that could periodically check on it. It will be in Cambridge.
If anyone could help I'd be very grateful! Thank you!

A big thank you to Aunt Cake, Banqchef & Traveling Queen Of Hearts for a fantastic event!! Thank you for all of your hard work planning and executing a wonderful gathering. Perfect weather, perfect boxes and perfect location! It was great meeting new letterboxing friends and spending time with long time friends. And I won things in the raffle, it was a good day :)

My daughter and I agree! We had a great time, the stamps were amazing, and the clues were spot-on. We had our dog with us though, so didn't get to spend time indoors or meet many people. But the boxers we did meet were wonderful!
Thank you all!

Agreed! We could not have asked for better weather! Had a lovely time boxing with Eiryn, Detective, and Knits and learning about the local community! Great people, great parks, great stamps, great times! Sorry we didn't get to visit more with folks, but it was great to catch up with old friends and meet new ones!
Many thanks to Aunt Cake, Banqchef58, and Traveling Queen of Hearts for hosting! I just determined that this was the first event I attended without hosting since "Before I'm Desperately Seeking Sun" in 2017!
