Almost forgot the OP... I doubt that something as small as a TIE fighter, even one on fire would be bright enough to be seen so far away that the planet it is falling onto disappears completely while the other ships also vanish... or that the light would just sit in view when in the film the explosions are over in seconds... certainly NOT comet material or timing...

Still it is an interesting ad... Glad to say that I made good on my 7th consecutive first day viewing. I'm not sure how many more I have left in me time wise... given the spacing of the movies in years.

The explosion would not produce enough light to be visible to the naked eye since it is occurring in a galaxy far far away, although it would take a long time for the light to travel here, so the timing may be accurate.
