For all of you who have been speculating, J.K. Rowling just announced that the final book will be published July 21st. There was much celebrating around our breakfast table this morning when we heard the news!

Cool! Exactly a week after the Order of the Phoenix is released in theaters. As if the book needed more of a push....

For those of a nervous disposition don't look, but for the rest Daniel Radcliffe is going to star in Peter Shaffer's play Equus.

With this sort of publicity I dare say the theatre will be sold out weeks before.

Interesting that the US version of that same photo stops a bit higher than the UK version!

Whoa! I was NOT ready for that picture! But I do hope he's successful in this new endeavor ... I have said from the beginning that the actors from HP are going to have a tough time breaking free from those roles. Even though we love the HP films, there are only two more to come after July. It's good to know they want to continue sharing their talent on other projects.
Looking forward to July 13 at the drive in,

I'm probably old enough that it's illegal for me to have seen that picture (sort of), but knowing the "history" and staging of Equus, I was at least prepared for what I might see.
Thanks for the link.

OMG
Didn't ANYONE put a morals clause in his contract? I mean, at least until the movies series is finished?
I'm not objecting to the play or his nudity, just the TIMING of it all.
What on earth do I tell my 9 year old....

Me too! But holy cow is he looking hot! He's got those little Brad Pitt hip dimple thingys kickin, I'm a sucker for that. I forgot that he plays Harry for a moment and just marveled at those abs!!!!
Then I turned bright red and shut the screen off, remembering he's only what, 17? I think that's legal, not taking chances tho, lol!!

I hope not! Equus is just the right play to break out of his sane, good boy role. That show is just a little bit NUTZ, and no children should be there. I say good for him, but I'm not a big fan of Equus... it's kinday creepy.

AHHHHH! shoot, what'd ya have to go and spoil it for????? ;-)
Seriously, if he can get a head start on out-growing the HP role, I say good for him! May the other actors have typecast-breaking opportunities as well.

Oh man, this was enough to stop TRAFFIC for me the day I saw this! I was taking attendance in my classroom and had to log on to our Lotus Notes through the web portal. I had just finished telling the kids they needed to buckle down on their morning work and was bringing up my homepage when I saw my Yahoo home page. So, the morning went something like this:
"Okay, you have 60 seconds to be taking care of this morning's 2 Do 2 Day list, so if you're still fooling around, you need to get busy because...BARKwhimper ...oh, my GOSH you guys, SERIOUSLY!!!!" The "barkwhimper" is the best approximation I have to the wounded puppy noise that left my lips at that critical moment. The kids thought I actually hurt myself and I had to explain about the book coming out.
15 mintues later, the office called up for attendance and we were STILL talking about whether Dumbledore was seriously dead! LOL
