Did it just appear? I see nothing in the comments. Did you contact the last finder and ask if they added it and why?

That would be the first thing to do rather than just edit the box and get rid of it.

I see it... do 'maintenance' on your box by logging a 'find'. You can remove it there I believe

To get rid of it, you can Record Checkup then un-click the Maintenance is needed box.

I'm guessing the person who just found it added the First-Aid thing. I agree with MissMoon that you should contact them. I found that box myself in March. I don't recall anything being wrong with it. It was a great box to find with my noxer, birder husband because while I was getting the box, he was being entertained by a meadowlark in the field.

When stamping up in your logbook, what information do you add with the image?

I don’t stamp into a traditional logbook, instead I stamp on plain, white card stock. After I stamp up, I put the printed clue and box info on top of the sheet of cardstock (or sheets of it’s a series that takes more than one piece of paper) so that I can type and print it on the cardstock later. Then I can add that to the pages when I scrapbook them.

Hmm, feelin' a tad judge-y? 😄

I really don't care if people want to count or track stamps--it's the incorrect listings that cause confusion and problems.

It messes up counts, upsets people when their find counts change because the incorrect listings are deleted, or it'll upset people who don't think stamps should be listed, and it just causes angst and problems.

AQ had been intended to list boxes, though, and not stamps, so that's what I always enforced, and it's been a pain in the tush. And there's not really any reason to list them. If it's not a pathological need to list stamps, I'm not sure what it is.

AQ had always been about listing boxes since day 1. It wasn't controversial back then. It wasn't something I surprised everyone with. It's just been a long-simmering problem and it's my hope and wish this update will fix the problem once and for all--giving people a place to actually list stamps. An official way to track stamps. I hope it scratches that itch those people have.

This works great. I just edited one of my Postal Boxes that is currently in circulation. There are 3 stamps in the box/envelope and they make one image. I originally listed the box with one stamp and added info in the clue indicating the 3 stamp sequence.

Adding the two additional stamps in the listing did not affect my P-count which is the way it should be imho. I don't usually have more than one stamp in a box, but it is becoming more and more common in the postal cohort.

LTCs and Postcards often have more than one stamp image--so there's that also.

I add all info. Name of LB, number listing, location. Owner, date found.
LBNA if it’s not AQ. Special note if needed.

I also add the letterboxer's membership number. There was someone that I wanted to look back up a while back and I typed in her name and it took some searching to find that person again due to a name change.

Usually I just stamp the image(s) in the field. On a rainy day when I don't feel like carving I go back over my logbooks and relive that day in the field. I'll take the time then to add the date and location and anything else I feel is relevent.

Box name, date found, date planted, planter name + carver if different, location (can be as little as city, state, or as detailed as milepost, overlook name, park, city, state). I'll add notes if there's something especially noteworthy about the find, the condition, the day, the location, something that happened, etc. All of this in a small spiral bound sketch book, one stamp to a page unless it's a series.

At the end of the Letterbox book, it says there is a sequel. I wanted to obtain the book - but after much research I found that it was never completed. MJH

In addition to basic name/location/planter/carver info, I include the trail names of other ‘boxers if I’m out with others (both planting and finding) and any fun notes if there’s something particularly interesting about the box/situation (e.g. if it’s the oldest box I’ve found [to date], if I’m the first finder or the first finder in a significant amount of time, if I’ve made failed attempts on the box before, etc.)

I have a personal journal, so I write about my letterboxing experiences in there, and while I’ve thought about doing more of that in the logbook with the stamp image, I like just having the simple logbook.

I’m pretty minimal about that. At the beginning of a day of boxing, I write the date and then after that all I usually write is the name of each box. I figure that anything else I want to know I can find on Atlas Quest.

For a hitchhiker, I’ll indicate which box I found it in and later which box I left it in.

Since it’s all about the artwork for me, I add the carvers name. On one logbook page I put several images. Later at home, within the gaps of the images, I add the info where/who I was with, AQ#, even the year carved if it’s a box that has stood the test of time. It makes for a busy page but I like it. I’ve even been known to take colored pencils and highlite names. Anything goes in that book. I had a Letterboxing dog imprint his paw with mud once.

I do mostly what others do:
Number of letterbox
Name of letterbox
Specific location of letterbox (park, cemetery, etc.)
City and state of letterbox

I also add the planter (and carver if it's someone else) along the edge of the stamped image.

Occasionally I'll add a picture which I've printed from my Sprocket, but that is usually when I'm on a road trip with my husband and we are visiting beautiful sites.

Also, I sometimes pull out my filled logbooks and let my grandchildren color in the images. Of course, I'm very selective in choosing the grandchildren who know how to "stay within the lines." My logbooks have been enhanced by their additions of color.

I only write the name or number of the box, but also writing the date is a good idea!

So i just found out about PAL day. is anyone participating or is it too hot now? LOL.

"International Plant-a-Letterbox Day started in the spring of 2006. Flowers were blooming, the sun was coming out, and spring was in the air." <--- I loled at this because summer is here for FL . I was seeing at least a few plants a day in FL on my widget, but now, barely one a day now that its in the 90s

I just heard from a friend that they can't see the Wakeda event coming up at the end of this month.

No, they've not Ignored Event.
They get a message saying they're unauthorized.
Any thoughts? Anyone else?

The event has a restriction. You have to be a member of a specific group in order to see the event, so your friend probably isn't a member.

The group is private, so I'm not inclined to post details about it here. But they'll need to be invited into the group before they can see the event.
