Carving material dispenser
Board: Carving Material
Mar 29, 2026 7:10am
Hello all!! If anyone is looking to get rid of some carving material (pink stuff or similar, if possible) we are happy to be your dispenser ;). We have been trying out new carving material and am just ok with what we have. It seems like everything but the pink stuff has that slight crumble effect to it. Lol
If that is something you are looking to do (get rid of), we are your gals ♥️ We could even barter, if we have anything worth trading.
Happy Carving!

Just want to say THANK YOU to everyone that came out to our little Town of Cleveland for the Farmers Market event yesterday. For my first hosted event, it was a lot of work, but turned out well worth it... even our Town Mayor made an appearance! It was awesome meeting everyone and I had lots of compliments on the carves, raffle goodies, baked goods, and skin care items! You all are awesome!! Hope everyone made it home safe and all the listings are now active (sorry, forgot to publish them all yesterday, lol).

Today we headed off in search of Elana Chivani’s first Tarot reading series. We were excited by the mystery build up on the boards and eagerly awaited the first clue (card?) to drop. We were even more excited to see that it was located in our home region of California.
After grabbing some sandwiches, we headed off to the appropriate starting location. It was a warm day, but the half kilometer walk wasn’t bad, sporting some mixed shade and colorful wildflowers. From there the translated clues were fairly clear to follow and the box was discovered safe and sound.
The stamp is of one of the minor Tarot cards and part of the reading. When you first open the reading, there are 4 unturned cards at the bottom of the clue and 4 boxes listed in the series, so we were anticipating a journey with several steps. On the website, once you select the found card from the drop down menus, it will reveal the clue to the next box. We looked at the clue long enough to conclude it had a different starting location and called it done for the day.
Because there are 21 of the major cards in the main drop down list, we suspect there will be 21 Tarot Readings/listings with 4 Boxes/cards each. These will likely be spread out from oceanul to oceanul as we have already seen them in California and New Hampshire. Hopefully one of them will be close to you. They are definitely worth seeking out, but be prepared that the 4 boxes may be in different locations. After working on the second clue, it definitely seems possible to hit multiple locations on a single outing, but individual mileage may vary.

It was a super fun event - you did a great job hosting! All your stamps were amazing and I loved that the Mayor showed up! Looking forward to your next event - barn quilts??? That would be a great idea - just saying!

(not just 1st) Finder Prizes
Board: Letterbox Chatter
Mar 30, 2026 4:31pm
I've only ever found a 1st finder prize once - and I treasured it. It was a clear keychain. The planter wrote on it in sharpie: "1st Finder - Congrats!" There are reasons for 1st finder prizes, for sure. And also - the reason for this post -
I'm going to start adding Finder Prizes to my new and older boxes. It's there for whoever wants it. If the first finder doesn't want it/already has it/etc, they can leave it for someone who does want it. I'll label it Finder Prize so it doesn't get mistaken for a geocache.
I've got 'em. They're cute. They'll be launching soon :D

Yes, we did just that. Took our paper receipt to the gate 3 months after we bought it at the discount.
As to ridiculous photo clues - easy solution: Hide those boxes from your search! Poof - no stress in trying for impossible ones. Where are the mental puzzles of yesteryear? You know the ones that actually took skill? (yeah - I know I sound like a cranky old timer, but.....no one got time for wandering the woods for random stuff!) :-)

After far far too long, I've finally had the time and health to crack out the mini zine I started working on last summer and wanted to share! I am still looking for feedback since I'm much more of a hobby artist than I am a graphic designer and trying to nail down the bare essentials has given me more grief than it probably needed to. Perfectionism is the enemy of actually getting things done sometimes haha.
I've uploaded each spread of pages on Imgur and will be sharing the final version as a printable PDF and PNG (and in other formats as requested).
Please let me know what you think! My goal was to design something that can be handed out as a quickstart to noxers, and I tried to add a lot of visuals both for added interest and so any kids who may end up with a copy can still follow along even if they can't read every word yet. I need to survive the remainder of my final semester of university but I'd love to do more of these for other topics as well!

At an event, we bought a handful of 'first finder patches. They were pretty well done. I sprinkled them in boxes we put out. But I don't remember who I bought them from.

I attended a conference in OKC a while back, so this is just a visitor's perspective. Not sure about boxes there, but the American Banjo Museum is terrific. The national monument is definitely worth a visit and will stay with you long afterward. Plenty of good restaurants in town as well, so you'll have lots of choices to suit your tastes.

I used to put stickers in mine but realized that most of them weren't taken by the first finder so I stopped doing it. I feel like it was a waste of my time and resources. It's nice to find someone who enjoys the little trinkets you'd get.
I cut out a bunch of butterflies with my cricut and then wrote on it "First Finder!" with the box name and number. I assumed the person would take it and put it in their book next to the stamp, as a little reminder that they were the first finder of that stamp. But it kind of disappointed me when I'd go back to check on a local box and see it still there with a bunch of people who had logged into the log book. Oh well.

Well, the one we planted for you is still there :) There is a great Frank Lloyd Wright house, Native American museum and Keeper of the Plains, but honestly there has been a flurry of new boxes of late so maybe we oughta think about a visit there :)
