If you keep your entire logbook private anyone who might want to check out your logbook for your plants won’t be able to see them.
Just sayin’.

I've been sending laminated postcards thru the mail for over 10 years without incident... I have found that certain employees do tend follow 'guidelines' differently. That's why I go on Saturday - Colin is a peach - the guy there during the week is a pit...

I’ve been using 110# card stock with no laminate and no issues. Often the postal barcode will not print on laminated cards which then requires an extra step of the barcode sticker. I have also successfully used wide packaging tape on the front (picture side) only with no problems.

I usually laminate only the front side of my postcards to protect the artwork, and to prevent the card from getting torn. I've never had any problems mailing them.

The point is that I’m surprised and intrigued by what is getting through the post office as it relates to postcard LTCs: Double sided lamination, multiple layers of cardstock, stickers, glitter and more.
So I looked up what the usps allows. A good point was made during the discussion: some postal employees enforce rules and some don’t.

I also logged into my Google AdSense account to look at the settings. It's kind of scary how many options they have now, not all of which I fully understand. But I did find a setting to reduce the "vignette ads" from showing every 1 minute to now show every 5 minutes, so maybe that will help make the ads a little less annoying. They'll still happen, though!
Oh my gosh whatever and however you did it, it worked, and what a huge difference!!! Yes the ads are still there but they are not even remotely annoying.
Thank you so much for this tweak GT! I think it is going to make a world of difference for those that do not have the premium membership while navigating the AQ website on their phones.

If you do a search by trailname, you can see someone's plants, so I'm not too worried about others' logbooks.
If you search for boxes by a planter who has their plants restricted, you will get the following message:
"Trail name" has restricted their plants from searches.
You can frequently get around this by searching on Owner, rather than Planter, but the two are not always the same.

SPWinIL posted….
I’m not “worried” about other people’s logbooks either. Hiding the plants in their logbook is just something you very rarely see since there’s no reason to do it. Sometimes the easiest thing to do if you are interested in a certain person’s plants is to just go to their logbook.
And making that page private restricts them from searches if someone just types in the planter. They may not know they need to type in owner.

Hiding the plants in their logbook is just something you very rarely see since there’s no reason to do it.
That’s been a controversial debate several times - there ARE legitimate reasons sometimes, to hide one’s logbook, even though there are ways around it for a determined person. But it’s a good idea for newbies to at least know the options available, since logbooks are hidden by default when they first join.

Plants aren't hidden by default because most people want their plants to be readily available. All the other pages of one's logbook are private by default, though.
So if plants are hidden, that's something the planter deliberately choose to hide.

Not sure how the admins handle enhancements, but I had a thought. It would be fun to be able to react to Tracker Posts like you can to messages in the message boards. Even better if all reactions were a little more accessible with icons rather than words and that show who was reacting.

I had ordered some different types of carving material and am finally getting around to using the firm kut... I'm finding that it is not inking up very well.
If you've used Firm Kut and had success with it please share ideas to improve the surface of the firm kut to hold the ink better...Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks so much!

Lightly sand the surface with a VERY FINE grit sanding block, until the shine is gone. Also, when you're finished carving, stamp with Stazon permanent ink, and let it dry on your stamp - both of these techniques together will produce a surface that has better 'tack' to hold the ink.

Agree! Sanding is a must. Work that shine right off. Stamping your freshly inked imaged with yellow mustard Stazons, before carving is also a must. I usually let it dry about 24 hours before I touch it. Otherwise it smudges the fresh ink from the printer.
Then after its all carved, or if the ink is having trouble sticking to any surface, just lightly sand it again. Works like a charm every time for me. :)
Currently working on postcards. Doing as I preach. ;)
