Do'h! How could I have forgotten not to approve my own message?! *slapping self* In my defense, I'm still new to this thing of running for public office. =)

I guess I should set up an election night party for all my supporters now that I'm running as a write-in candidate. Hmm.... I'll need to get speechwriters to write my acceptance speech too. Not much time to get all these details worked out!

-- Ryan, and yes, I approved this message

If you haven't voted yet, I assume you can always write me in as president. But it wouldn't do much good--I'm constitutionally barred from being president. =(

Stupid constitution.....

My husband keeps saying he's going to write in SpongeBob for President. Problem is, we don't know how old he is.

I read him your post and jokingly suggested that he could write himself in for President. But he isn't eligible either - he's not American born!

I don't mean to pick on you, but this is a general announcement in case anyone is serious about this write-in stuff. Cue "the More You Know" music.

In all seriousness, you really should not write in a candidate unless it is someone you really want to win. There was an article in the local paper about the amount of time that is wasted in recording and reading all the write-ins and this translates into taxpayer money to pay the election workers.

Consider it paying a fee each time you write down a candidate and think again about voting for Mickey Mouse.

Oh, I don't feel like you are picking on me - I've voted already, with no write-ins!

My husband will end up voting for one of the current candidates - he's just expressing his opinion on the candidates. As a naturalized citizen, he knows how important the process is.

If you are in Oregon, feel free to write-in all you want. Oregon doesn't bother to look at who the write-ins are for unless then total number of write-ins could possibly affect the race. So as long as any one candidate gets 50% + 1 or the top two finishers are not write-ins, they just report the number write-in votes received. About the only time they have to look at the actual write-in names is during a recount. But at that point they are looking manually at all the ballots anyway.

I'm not entirely certain what district I'm in, but if I see that position on my ballot, I am TOTALLY writing you in!
