I've looked through the clue tracker board already. I can't find the spot where we are supposed to approve clue tracker - anybody know where that is hiding? I even un-installed and reinstalled the app.
Thanks in advanced

Hi! I think you are trying to figure out how to login to AQ within Clue Tracker. If that is not the case, please let me know.

From the search screen, tap the triangle to open "Search Options"
Just below that you should see a prompt to log in to Atlas Quest (or LbNA). Tap "Log in"
Then you will see a page from AtlasQuest that prompts you to Login. Enter your trailname and password. Then tap the "Approve" button.

You will know you are logged in if you see your trailname below "Atlas Quest" (or LbNA).

Depends on the box. We have done regular directional clues, ciphers (super easy ones), and photos. We have also solved some super crazy clues.

Wow, thanks for all the cake day wishes! Sorry that I didn't see them until today. I haven't been keeping up very well with reading the boards lately, and that's the day I started coming down with a cold that I am still trying to recover from. My cake day started out great, with one of my letterboxes being the call of the day for Great Lakes Letterboxing Bingo. I didn't get outside to letterbox, but I did work on some on LTCs that day.

Released in 2014 comes . . . The Grand Budapest Hotel.

The premise is as follows:

The Grand Budapest Hotel's soul lies with the hotel's concierge, M. Gustave. Gustave likes and enjoys having affairs with old, wealthy women patrons in between commanding the hotel staff and ensuring its smooth operations.

One of his affairs is with the dowager Madame Céline Villeneuve Desgoffe-und-Taxis (known as Madame D.). In addition to having a premonition of her pending death, Madame D also has terrible adult children, children whom she does not trust. And as it turns out, it is she who also secretly owns the hotel.

So, when Madame D dies unexpectedly and under mysterious circumstances, Gustave became an immediate suspect.

However, just prior to his arrest, Gustave and his most trusted lobby boy, Zero, steal what has been rightfully bequeath to Gustave; an ugly but highly valued painting called "Boy with Apple."

So, between the stolen art, and being the prime suspect, Gustave also becomes the target of the assassin, Jopling.

And so, this high-flying adventure begins, with bad men, ugly paintings, a lovely girl with a birthmark of Mexico, a splash of La Panche perfume, and an unattached head to boot.

Having said more than enough, on to my WA Paws

The truth is this movie is damn near the perfect movie. Ralph Fiennes and Tony Revolori are an absolutely marvelous pair. They bring these characters to life and make you like them. You really have to watch them, their presences, their interactions to appreciate what they bringing to the screen.

The quirkiness of this movie is exceptional. "Did he just throw my cat out the window?"

And what an amazing supporting cast. Adrian Brody. Jeff Goldblum. Jude Law. Edward Norton. William Dafoe.

And of course, his trademark, an amazing set of backgrounds, scenes, and costumes. Wes Anderson spares no expense in making this movie beautiful.

Not to mention, funny quotes I say randomly. "Get your hands off my Lobby Boy!"

At first, you aren't sure where this movie is going but trust me, it's excellent.

The highest movie I have ever rated is "To Catch A Thief". This certainly is of equal ranking.

So, if you fancy yourself a wonderful movie, I highly, highly recommend this movie on a Saturday night, with your favorite you-so-fancy charcuterie board, and bottle of wine.

Okay . . . next up is Moonrise Kingdom.

So you can change your tag names from any box listing. Is that where you changed them?

The obvious question would be did you hit Save Changes when you changed your tag names?

no. i changed them under my searches. and yes, i hit save.

seems that no matter where you change them they should be the same everywhere. what is the point of being able to change them under your searches if they won't be changed on the clue?

I do not see a way to edit tag names on the My Searches page. But I did edit a tag name, and the new tag name showed up right away on all Box Detail pages. Sorry I can't reproduce this error, I am usually quite skilled at doing things that have unexpected results.

I don't either. You can select tags on searches (obviously), but I don't see any way to edit their names on searches.

Agree. The only place I know to edit tag names is on any Box Detail page.

Sorry I can't help. Maybe Ryan or someone else will chime in.

There's only one place in the database for names, and if you're seeing the old names, it's because the new ones weren't saved. You're never going to see old tag names on some pages and new tag names on another page. If there's a bug in the code, you might see someone else's tag names on a page, but there's literally only one place in the database where tag names are stored and that's what is used. Old tag names are never saved, and it can only display tags that are listed in the database. (Which are either your tag names or--if there's a bug--someone else's tag names.)

It might be helpful to get more details about precisely what you did. Step-by-step directions, providing the URL of the page where you changed a tag, what the old name was, and what the new name was, and the URLs for which pages where you believe the tags are showing up with erroneous names.

There's an answer in the details somewhere, but it's hard to know without more details.

okay here is a detailed description.

if i go to my seaches i have a number of searches. let's say one of the tags say "to solve" under the title is 2 boxes. 1 box says search the other says edit. if i click on the edit box it brings me to the edit favorite search box. the only thing i want to change is the name. so i click on the search name and it allows me to rename it. let's say i changed it "to find" and click save. i go back to the my searches and yes, the name has been changed.

so now i am looking through my logbook and click on a box i solved and want to mark it "to find". so i click on the clue and the box that says "your tags" is there. only the name i changed "to find" is not there. it still says "to solve"

i didn't put the url here because of the nature of the name changes.

does that make sense?

I watched Moonrise Kingdom again last night and could rewatch it a million times and find something new to appreciate each time. This is really my favorite of the Wes Anderson films. Bruce Willis, Bill Murray, Francis McDormand, Edward Norton, Tilda Swinton, Bob Balaban as the Narrator and the child actors are all stellar as well. The soundtrack is also a favorite. This is one of my favorites, but it is not on the soundtrack https://youtu.be/KoO6XVCKDc8?si=HdGsiMNX_HF31Vyb

One problem is nomenclature. When you're bringing up your searches, you're seeing the names of your saved searches. These are not tags. Tags are associated with boxes. Looks like you're a premium member so you have eight tags you can use and they're all different colors.

It sounds like you went to your My Searches page and edited the named of one of your saved searches. After that I got lost again. Maybe you're using the same words for naming searches as you are for naming tags and expecting the search names to carry over to the tag names. Since they're two different things that won't happen.

In my last company (which in 2022 forced anybody 65 or older into retirement.....no ifs ands or buts) mine was the only department that hadn't had any nervous breakdowns or long-term hospital stays for mental exhaustion and or critical suicide attempts. Then I was one of the ones forcibly retired and now they've got six people out with mental illness leaves. You are not alone. It is very frustrating and I don't blame you for being upset and I will be thinking about you

What are some creative ways you’ve camouflaged your containers?

I’ve made fake rocks using pvc pipe ends, expandable spray foam and stone textured spray paint. I spray the foam around the pvc pipe leaving the end open, once it has expanded and dried I shape the foam to look like the size of the native rocks in my area. Then spray them with the stone texture. They are super lightweight and I use them around event central when I’m hosting events.

I use Gorilla camo tape to cover my boxes but I take it one tiny step further - once the box is in place, I cover it with a flat rock THEN create a SPOR or whatnot on top of the flat rock. A curious Muggle might check out the SPOR only to find rock. And yes, I ALWAYS put the flat rock in the clues!

I love this question!

I did a whole series of creative containers for a series in northern Michigan. And, crazily, shortly after I planted them, with only 1 finder, a tornado went through the area and obliterated the natural area. I went back after about a year, hoping to find the boxes. I found the first 2 and the last 2 and the trail was no more.

Some of the containers:
I planted a box underground, but attached to a plastic fern which blended in with the ferns of the area.
I attached a birdhouse to the back of a tree and the box was inside the tree.
I had a log which split apart, revealing the letterbox inside.
I hid a Michigan animal figurine behind a tree which had an inside spot to hide the letterbox stamp.

I remember how fun it was to plan all these.

Some great containers I've found:
Inside a library, I found a partial set of World Book encyclopedias glued together (maybe about 8 of them). When I pulled out the glued World Books, a cubby had been created on the backside for the stamp and logbook.
I found a fake wasp's nest hanging from a tree.
