How do I change my trailname?

You can change your trail name from the Account Info page, which can always be found under the My Page menubar option. All plants, exchanges, and finds will automatically work with the new name, as if the old name never existed. Your old trail name will be unavailable for other members to use for one month to give people a chance to learn about your name change.

Please note: You must be logged into your current account in order to change your trailname on the Account Info page. If you are not logged in, you will be asked to log in. Log into your current account to change your trail name rather than register a new account.

What are the types of sub-accounts available?

There are three types of sub-accounts available, each with slightly different purposes and capabilities.

  • Alias: An alias account is an alter ego. Some, such as the Mystery Mailer, are openly recognized as an alias, even if the real identity of the person is a secret. Other aliases may be more subtle and might pass themselves off as individuals in their own right. With an alias account, you can post messages and send AQ mail as that identity, even when logged into your primary account (also referred to as the "master" account). At no time will we ever show a public connection between an alias account and your primary account.
  • Child: A child account refers to a family member, generally under 13 years of age, and the main purpose of the account is to record finds and attempts. A child account does not have permission to send AQ mail or post to the message boards, although they can receive AQ mail and read the message boards. There are other restrictions on child accounts as well, but the ability to send AQ mail and post to the message boards are the most relevant. While recording finds and attempts on your primary account, you will also be able to record finds on your child accounts at the same time.
  • Adult: An adult account also refers to a family member, generally 13 years of age or older. It might also be useful for friends or significant others who don't use Atlas Quest often. It works like the child account does but without the restrictions.

How do I change which account I want as my Primary account?

First, make sure that the account is independent of all other accounts on AQ. If it's a sub-account of an already-existing account, spin it off into an independent account.

Second, start adding other independent accounts as sub-accounts. Accounts that are already a primary account to other sub-accounts or other sub-accounts cannot be added without first being turned into independent accounts.

To spin-off an account, change the "account type" to "spin-off."

How do I change my password?

You can change your password from the Account Info page. The link can be found under the My Page menubar option.

Where do I go to add a sub-account?

Go to the My Accounts page. Atlas Quest does not allow sub-accounts for sub-accounts, so if you are logged into an existing sub-account, you will not have the option to create sub-accounts. You would have to log in as the parent account to create additional sub-accounts first.

If there is an already existing account you want to add as a sub-account to the account you are logged in as, use the Add Existing Account button. Keep in mind, if the account you want to add is already a sub-account of another account or has its own sub-accounts already, you will not be able to add it. Only "free" accounts can be added as a sub-account.

If the sub-account does not already exist, use the Create New Account button to create the new sub-account.

How do I renew my membership?

Go to the Premium Membership page, click on the option for renewing that interests you, and follow the directions.
