For the definitive source of prevention measures, symptoms, and treatment, visit the CDC West Nile Virus webpage.

Word-of-Mouth (WOM)
Many letterbox clues are passed around as WOM clues for a variety of reasons, but always to help restrict the clue for some reason. Perhaps it’s in an area that cannot handle a large amount of visitors, or as a thank you for specific people who’ve contributed to letterboxing in some way, or to keep the clue off the Internet where search engines might cache them or link to them. WOM does not necessarily mean the clue is verbal—just that the clue is not online or is restricted in some manner.
