Description
Kirbert has made available three gouge tools (one that he has modified, so not "out-of-the-box") from Hong Kong (the box of carving tools says RABBY - so trying that name as identifier for this postal) for whoever signs up to have sent and to try them out. Wry Me then sent three gouges to join the postal and I purchased three others. Six tools will travel with the postal. Five uncarved stamps will also travel with the double sided main postal stamp. The uncarved stamps are for participants to practice carving with the tools sent in the postal. Four material types are available to try: SLQ, OZ, New Pink Stuff and PZKut C grade white.
Here is the original kit prior to modification:

Some experience with postals is preferred so as to limit the loss of the tools.
As noted on the boards, this tracker is set up to do a shared carving project using the RABBY tools. The challenge is that five incompleted stamps will accompany a completed stamp (I will throw something appropriate together) for this postal. They will each have an image, but those signed up get to help carve the stamps - on your honor using ONLY THE RABBY TOOLS ACCOMPANYING THE POSTAL. Upon completion, the stamps will be planted in the wild somewhere. Images will be chosen of various degrees of difficulty (minimal detail and more detail). Once the postal returns to me, I will use the RABBY tools to finish any stamps incomplete, make simple LTC images of each stamp and mail these to each participant - if interested (or I will post pics linked with the tracker if people don't want LTC images). Once planted in the wild, every tracker participant will be a "contact" for the series so updates from finders on the stamps planted traditionally will go to everyone who helped carve the stamps.
By requesting to join, you are willing to carve on either of the five stamps (judging how much needs to remain for those behind you in the tracker). Please send the postal along within five - ten days of arrival.
FYI- this may weigh a little more than standard postals given the six stamps, logbook (to describe what you worked on and thoughts on the process) and RABBY tools.
Sound fun? If you are up for the challenge, send an AQ mail with your alternate email and mailing address.
