Description
The Treasure Hiker program is up and running in Connecticut!
Connecticut will play by the same rules as everyone else:
--minimum 1 mile round trip hike, above 1 mile count fractions (don't round 1.5 to 2!)
--only count hikes that directly include the planting or finding of letterboxes!!
--only count a box or plant once--if you repeat a hike with a friend, don't count it unless you're planting something new!!
--maintenance hikes and attempts don't count--unless you also plant something new!!
--for the Connecticut pathtags, only count hiking that occurred in Connecticut!
For detailed info, please visit:
http://www.dixiegraphix.com/treasurehikers/main.html
http://www.atlasquest.com/aboutlb/wiki/browse.html?gCatId=14#q362
Please keep track of your own miles! You are encouraged to use the AQ widget for this purpose :-) We're going to be on the honor system--be honest! You may want to add the Treasure Hiker board to hear about ways others are tracking their mileage, i.e. if it's not listed on the clues.
We will be using pathtags to denote milestones in the program. The 25 mile pathtags are now available! We will order the 50 mile pathtags as soon as we've sold enough 25 milers to have the funds to do so! And so on. Here are our planned increments (and background colors):
25 green
50 yellow
75 red
100 blue
250 bronze
500 silver
1000 gold
To order, please send $3 per pathtag and SASE (one first class stamp for 1-2 pathtags, add 20¢ stamp for 3-5 pathtags--AQ mail me if you need more than that so I can check postage!) to:
Diane Adams
67 Cedar Lake Rd.
Chester, CT 06412
You do not have to be signed up for this tracker to participate in the program, but it will make our record keeping easier. If we know how many are participating, we are more likely to have the appropriate pathtags on hand. This will also be the first place that notifications are posted.
Many thanks to Mommy Quackers, Leilani's Aunt, Tyler Emily and Mom, and Butterfly Suzy for helping to get this program up and running!! They are the committee :-)
Happy Trails!
