It's been awhile and I miss my letterboxing friends! My wife had the great idea to have it be at or near Calico Ghost Town, in Yermo, CA. I decided when better then on 12-13-14.

You will need to make your own arrangements for a camp site. There are many, many to chose from at Reservations for Calico There are also RV, cabins, and group bunkhouses. However if you are interested in staying the night I recommend you book now as they are slowly filling up. I am staying at the south end of the camping area near camp spot 52.

The stamps and trails will be mining and/or Christmas related. You are not obligated to stay the night if you sign up.

Potluck is for Saturday at 5:00. You will need to plan the rest of the meals for your group. There are some restaurants available in the ghost town & admission to the town is free when you have booked a site.

I'll even add an incentive if you will be plant a box for the event and send me the clue (At least a week before the event). If you are willing let me know and I'll get started on your surprise.

I saw someone back east use Booster to crowd-fund shirts for the event. The minimum is 20, but I'm betting we can manage that.

No one volunteered, so I through this together. SPOILER- some images from the back of the shirt will appear as event stamps.

The price is set at $20, so feel free to order as many as you like. There is no real maximum for this.

So only one person has ordered a shirt for the event who wasn't me or my dad. If we don't get 14 more orders the shirts will not be made. It's fine, I just wanted everyone to be aware.

Dec 9, 2014: Update
Rain seems likely Friday, but looks like Saturday is great.

We have a fire-pit and picnic table in front of the cabin & campsite we rented, so that will be home base for the event. You can park at the cemetery or at the lower parking area. Please bring a camp chair for the potluck in addition to drinks for your party.

I added 2 maps to the event photo album. One is where in the campgrounds we will be, and the other highlights the trails/roads in the area. You map want to print all or some of these.

I am hoping to get there around 6:30 or 7pm on Friday, so clue packets & event stamps will be available then. The cemetery series is doable at night if your feeling daring...

Also I acquired a copy of "The Letterboxing Game" if anyone is interested in trying it out with me...
