The Story: after reading lots and lots about Dartmoor and its letterboxing, I came across this blog:

I thought it would be lots of fun to start the tradition they have in Britain of holding a "meet" on Clock Change Day, like they do over in Dartmoor. It will be nice time to socialize, exchange stamps, eat British food and drink beer! I will have an official event stamp for this very casual meet, if others wish to carve other stamps that is always fun! (I do believe there is also a tradition of letterboxes in pubs in the UK and Ireland!) There are loads of letterboxes in the area, so I encourage you to box beforehand if you want. I had intended to organize something at Nicasio Reservoir (the closest thing we have to Dartmoor) in the morning, to really get that authentic feel of tramping around in the moors. However, there is very limited parking at Nicasio and still trying to figure out logistics of a large group out there, so plans for that are up in the air at the moment.

note about the RSVP: I would appreciate it if folks could RSVP if they are sure they are attending, as I need to call the pub ahead of time to let them know appprox. the group that is showing up! thanks.

And hopefully we can continue the Clocks Change Event tradition! The wonderful thing is you always know the date of the event!

Before the event on Sunday, Fleetwood 7 and I are going to hike up Mt. Barnabe in Lagunitas and go for the Tarot:The Star letterbox http://www.atlasquest.com/boxes/clue/?gBoxId=207724. We are going to start at 10am, its about a 7 mile hike, with 1300ft elevation gain. Join us if you feel you want to work up a serious appetite! This hike will probably be on the strenuous side, we are allowing 3 hours or so to do it. I will make a separate event for this so anyone who signs up we can be in contact about where exactly to meet up for the hike!!!
