Description

9/10/11 -- a full decade since the devastating terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
In memory of that infamous day we're celebrating the American spirit uniting our nation.

We'll be "hunting" in nature...El Dorado Nature Center, that is.

There will be 8+ boxes to find in a total of 2 1/4 miles of trails. Wear your sneakers & sunscreen.
Don't forget your compass & mini binoculors if you have them. And water to drink for the trail walking (there are drinking faucets & a restroom on the trail also).
We timed the trails today accounting for time at each box...between 2-3 hours. Trails are friendly for durable stollers.

I will be parked at the end of their parking lot by 9:30am...look for Opossum Patch picnic area.
The printed clues will be there & you're welcome to start hunting whenever you'd like.
I'm looking at the Opossum Patch area for our potluck picnic.

Sorry to say...there is a parking fee of $7.00 (it allows access to the whole park) but the nature center is free. If you'd like to carpool & share the parking fee, you could meet others at the library around the corner at 2900 N. Studebaker Rd., 90815.

Good morning!
So waking up to thunder isn't what I expected.
Makes for an interesting twist to the day.
I don't see rain in any weather forecasts, just cooler temps & cloudy.
SO....I'm still going to be there & if you'd still like to come...GREAT!!

I just want to thank you all for still coming out for the event (despite the threatening weather)
I really think the rain sprinkling turned out to be a blessing in disguise..not too hot, less people on the trails, and the nature center smelled AMAZING today!!

You all are the nicest people & it's always nice to visit & enjoy this hobby together!
So nice to meet the new event attendees too!! Hope you'll come to more events in the future!!
