Description

Whether you’re a seasoned letterboxer or just starting out, please join The Nature Conservancy and veteran boxer Marissa Dupont (gollygee) in looking for letterboxes on the Lubberland Creek Preserve. There’s even a special Earth Day 2011 stamp to collect! At noon, we'll head to the picnic.

Meet at 10am at the Great Bay Office, 112 Bay Road, Newmarket. RSVP to Megan Lepage at mlepage@tnc.org or by phone at 603.224.5853, extension 23.

On and around Earth Day 2011, people all around the world will be stepping outside and heading to their favorite outdoor spot to enjoy good food in the company of great people. So bring your lunch and join us at the Lubberland Creek Preserve at noon for our own Picnic! If you have a picnic blanket or lawn chair, feel free to bring it along as well. Want to spend the afternoon with us? Stick around for the Rockingham County Master Gardeners' spring garden cleanup and "Healthy Soil, Healthy Waters" expo after lunch!

The picnic at Lubberland Creek Preserve will take place at the Great Bay Office at 112 Bay Road in Newmarket. To RSVP to this picnic, please contact Megan Lepage at mlepage@tnc.org or by phone at 603.224.5853, extension 23.

The educational focus of the afternoon will be “Healthy Soil, Healthy Waters”. There will be demonstrations on various aspects of organic gardening, including soil test interpretation, the wonders of compost tea, composting techniques, how landscaping can affect Great Bay and how you can make lawn care choices that impact the Great Bay Estuary in a healthier way. To RSVP please contact Gale Rosenberger at eglrose@comcast.net or Nell Griffin at nellgrif54@gmail.com.
