Description

We have reserved Shelter 5......the big one.....

Feb 6, 2011
We have decided to do something different this year. Instead of having a raffle or an auction, we are going to have a drawing/door prize. There will be 3 "baskets" for the adult drawing and 2 "baskets" for the kids only. Adults will receive 1 ticket per trail name and the kids will receive 1 ticket per family name. We will have 2 separate bags for the tickets so the kids can't win the adult stuff and vice versa.

It is with great pleasure that I am able to announce the guest carver of the event stamp.........SHH has graciously agreed and we are honored to have her stamp at our gathering.

Paris Mountain is an awesome state park. Lots of great trails for all skill levels….but there is a small gate fee. Admissions: $2/adult; $1.25 SC Seniors; free for those 15 and younger. Camping is also available. Here is the link to the park....Here is a trail map. The lower trails are shorter trails with more stamps and the higher trails are longer trails with fewer stamps. We are also planning on having stamps planted for the event in the vicinity of the shelter.

It's getting closer and I hope that everyone is getting excited. I wanted to share a few details with all. We are going to have a "how to" clinic starting at noon. Electric will do a carving demo and Figureeight will have logbooks is various stages of completion. Now is your chance to ask the all important question...."how do you do that?". If you would like to participate in the clinic, drop me a line. Also, the gift basket give away will be help at 12:30 and you must be present to claim your basket. The gift basket for the kids is geared more to the younger boxer...just fyi.

On another note.....we are planting stamps that will be available for the day only and will be pulled and retired. Here is the fun part......we will be donating some of the stamps after the event to good homes. There will be a board posted in the shelter with the stamps that are available for donation after the event. This is a "first come, first serve" basis for ownership. After the event when the stamps are pulled is when you take take ownership. If you are unable to stay to the end but still want a stamp, arrangements can be made to mail it to you.

Also....no need for anyone to bring paper products and such...we will provide.

Sep 10, 2011: Paris Mountain Update
Sept 10, 2011
Just wanted to announce a few things.

1. I have received the event stamp from SHH and I must say that it is AWESOME. We are honored to have an example of her outstanding carving skills.
2. We have started to plant......we placed 5 new boxes on the mountain that will be their permanent home . I hope to have a "test run" completed before I post the clues live.
3. As for the "day of" stamps....the clues for those will be available in the shelter all day. Please feel free if you want to bring your own temporary or permanent stamp.
4. This is a "additional stamp friendly" event. Please feel free to bring table toppers, HIPS, cooties (and a house) and the what-not. The more the merrier.....
5. Don't forget that some of the stamps will be available for adoption after the event. The images of the available stamps will be posted in the shelter around noon. This is a first come, first serve basis. Stamps will be available to take home at the end of the day.
6. Clinics start at noon. Door prizes at 12:30. Must be present to win.
7. Have fun, see y'all soon.
