Description

We will be planning a new event for 2010, A Letterboxer's Christmas. This event will be geared towards adults as well as the children who attend events. We will also be looking to make a collection for "Toys for Tots" for Christmas. There will be a visit by Santa as well as a tree that we want decorated with home-made decorations made by the children. We will also have stamps that will be themed orientated towards Christmas and New Years. We will design the Event Stamp for this event. And as always, there will be raffles.

11-10-2009
Toys For Tots is officially onboard with our event. When it gets time for the event, they will be supplying us with numerous items to give out to the kids. We are hoping to have a location finalized in the next week.

11-20-2009
We officially have a location. It will be at the Saco Elks Lodge on the Ocean Park Road. Plenty of parking available. We have booked Santa for the event as well.

We will be doing the event stamp for this event. Teacup has also asked about carving the "Toys For Tots" logo.

I have asked Gargoyle Girl to design and carve the Event Stamp. I am sure that it was ge another great carving by her.

September 26, 1020:
This will be a potluck event. Unfortunately, per Elks Club policy, NO OUTSIDE BEVERAGES CAN BE BROUGHT IN. THERE IS A CASH BAR AND ALL BEVERAGES MUST BE PURCHASED THERE. I have no control over this issue.

October 16, 2010:
We are going to have a Chocolate Fountain with all the fixings at the event from 11AM to 2PM.

Oct 24, 2010: A Lettergboxer's Christmas
Just to clarify a little bit on the Kids making decorations. We are looking for the kids to make decorations at home and bring them to the event for hanging on the tree. Anything goes from homemade paper Christmas ornaments to the cardboard paper chain of rings. We will supply the star for the tree.

Nov 12, 2010: UPDATE : Letterboxer's Christmas
Three weeks away from the event. If you are carving a stamp for the "12 Days of Christmas" and Christmas Ornament stamps, and you haven't contacted me, I would like to get all stamps by Thanksgiving so we can get them ready to plant for the event.

Toys for Tots donation: We are asking for donations of a new and unwrapped toy or game for the "Toys for Tots" program. There will be a special stamp for those who donate.

There are a lot of raffle items for the event. There are also an assortment of kids' raffles as well.

As for the kids, if you are bringing a child with you, can you let us know as to how many kids you are bringing. We are also asking that the kids make decorations at home for the tree that will be set up at the event.

Santa will be at the event from 12:00AM to 2:00PM.

There is also a chocolate fountain with all the fixings that will be available for tasting.

As reminder....NO BEVERAGES CAN BE BROUGHT IN TO THE EVENT. I have no control on this issue. There will be a cash bar to buy beverages.

If you intend on bringing something for potluck, please add it to the food sign up list.

Any and all event boxes are welcome.

Nov 15, 2010: Event Raffle Items - Christmas Event
