Description

Get ready to Race! from Portland, Oregon to San Francisco, California!! Teams of 4-6 will leave Portland on Friday, July 23rd searching for letterboxes, performing tasks, and racking up "road trip" points along the way! Everyone will stop at the pitstop Friday night for camping, rest, and group frivolity, leaving again Saturday morning to complete the final leg of the race and ending in beautiful San Francisco.

Please feel free to sign up if you're interested (so we can start to get a general idea for planning), and when you are ready to form a team, AQ mail me with your team name and the names of all team members.

Amazing Race Update 1/3/10
All teams report to Rocky Butte in Portland, Oregon at 8:00 AM on Friday, July 23rd, 2010 with camping gear (minus cooking equipment), cell phones (at least one with camera and text capability), a full tank of gas, and a great attitude. Teams are encouraged but not required to show their team spirit. Think matching shirts, car decorations, etc. Teams will be “racing” from Rocky Butte to an unknown location near San Francisco, California with a required pit stop somewhere between.

Your entry fee person includes an evening snack Friday night, breakfast Saturday morning, dinner Saturday night, Friday night accommodations (camping), and prizes. Other meals and gas are team responsibilities.

Thursday Night we will host a pre race meet and greet at a to be announced location somewhere in the starting city.

The entry fee is $20 per person if paid before February 30th (ask Wassa). After February 30th but before May 1st, the entry fee is $25. After May 1st, the fee goes up to $30. Entry fees may be paid via Paypal to cardocpdx@verizon.net. Please put “Amazing Race Entry Fee” in the subject along with your team name. You may also pay via check or cash to Happy Papaya or Maiden.

• Comfort Suites Portland Airport $90 a night
• Hawthorne Hostel $23 a night for dorm beds and $55 for a private room

• Days Inn Point Richmond $60 a night
• Berkeley Hostel Piedmont House $32 per person dorm style or $70 for a 4 person private room

Good Morning Amazing Race Enthusiasts,

The race date is getting close and the first deadline for entry fees has passed. Thank you to those that have gotten their entry fees in and have given us their team names and members.

The planning is well underway and we have lots of exciting things planned for your racing pleasure. This will be a weekend even unlike anything you've ever done before :)

We will continue to release details as they become available. For now, get those team names in, get those entry fees in, and put your planning efforts into making your team a cohesive unit :)

Good evening, Amazing Racers! With just one week to our Kick-off, I thought I'd check in and see how everyone is doing. Looks like we will have 8 teams racing... How much spirit will your team show? Is your team stamp carved? Are your cheers, jeers, and taunts rehearsed? Are your "Road trip" playlists programmed? ;)

Just a reminder that both the pre-event and post-event are now posted. Please RSVP so those hostesses have an accurate headcount. Maiden and I are leaving bright and early Tuesday morning to plant and finalize all route details, but we'll still be available via email if you have any last minute questions! We are very excited and hope you are too!

Finally, I have had a late request to join by a party of 2. If your team is not-quite full and you'd like to add 2 more teammates, please drop me a line and I will connect you.
