As someone else mentioned, this little airfield no longer exists. A new subdivision is under construction and all has been clear cut, new streets built, etc. Afraid this box was sacrificed to Atlanta 's version of "progress."

The airport closed in Oct 2014. We drove in at the airport road (could see the sign among the pine trees) and saw workers doing major land construction (grading, moving large piles of dirt). Both access roads had 'private' signs. Either no gate or we weren't able to get far enough in to see a gate to check on the box.

Wreakage is almost not visible because of overgrowth. Stump now on the ground. Box needs TLC. Great carve
2 FOR THE ROADProfileContactLogbookNote
stump has fallen. wreckage almost not visible because of overgrowth. Logbook in great shape but stamp floating in water and separated from wood. Dried it the best we could. Great carve.

We had a good time looking for this one on the snow covered hill. It made it a little harder to find but lots of fun!! We took our "pop" with us so he could see what letterboxing was. I think he enjoyed it. Nice carve and great little hiding place!!

As usual, your carves met my expectations! The snow covered hill made it extra special. We picked this one up on the way to my grandfathers 90th birthday party! Perhaps the oldest letterboxer? :)
