Since there have been brush fires in the vicinity, checked on both boxes. The Chief is in an area that didn't burn and is still in place. Lady Nole is in an area that *did* burn, but thanks to being in a hole and well-covered suffered no damage.

Tried to check on these boxes and found the park closed. No explanation given, but there are several nearby areas that have suffered damage in recent rainstorms so perhaps this place has as well.

This park was closed again -- or still, I dunno. Whatever, I went in anyway. They've plowed a new road that goes through the area where the boxes were hidden. I was unable to find ANY of the landmarks mentioned in the clues! They might still be out there somewhere, but these boxes are unfindable so they are retired.

This was a fun box to find! Love the puzzler aspect. We managed to use the compas correctly since we found both! The Chief is in fantastic condition to have been planted nearly 5 years ago. His Lady was ever so slightly damp, but still in fine condition. They take the "gate closes at 6PM" very seriously...we were lucky to make it out.
