Even though the box didn't appear to be there, it was worth the time. The 'Old Oakie' is incredible!

Attempted but did not find. WAY too muddy. A case of eager beavers ready to start the Letterboxing season just a bit too early. Will re-attempt in the future if a hand-carved stamp becomes available.

I walked east for a kilometer. Eventually I met up with a wonderful man with 2 dogs who knew where the old tree was. We walked another kilometre and he delivered me to the giant among trees. Quite the tree. I told him I was going to rest awhile, thanked him for his personal escort and bid him adieu. I had a tough time finding the box, eventually relied on my geo-sense and scanned the area until I spotted a likely hiding location. Quite the adventure. The tree was impressive.

We probably should have brought along a compass . . . but what a great afternoon spent exploring the area.
