Box Comments

Woman to BlameProfileContactLogbookNote
Couldn’t find the willow oak tree nor the box. However, my friend who lives in Richmond found some new trails to explore in the future.

I didn't find the very large Willow Oak tree, so I'm not sure I was in the right place after finding the posts. And the Carillon was under construction, so this was not my best day.........

The box is broken and everything is very wet, but the stamp is wonderful.

Found it! Box is in real rough shape. I had to pour out water from the box and both plastic bags. The tree is on the left, at 130 degrees.

The log book was soaked, but the stamp is still in good condition. The grounds around the Carillon are fenced in due to renovations, but you can still make some guesses to find the trailhead. We saw an 8 point buck while searching. Fun find!

Definitely still there.

All the clues seemed to fall into place. We found the final tree with no problems, but no box. We searched around other trees nearby, but couldn't find anything.

After one search using final coordinate as stated, we read comments and went back to try again. Found the box on the L side of the trail. One container had a cracked top with a soaked and unreadable logbook. Found a second container with the stamp and some loose pages.

Gave the compass a workout :). Everything looked in good shape. Thank you for "showing" me this interesting place.

Dropped off a hitchhiker appropriate for this area of the park...
