The stump is now only 3 feet tall due to age.

What fun to re-visit this LB after 10 and still enjoy the scenic trail and satisfying search!

looks like lots of trees fell or were cut right at the spot where the box was planted

Great stamp! All was well with the box.

Box and logbook have been replaced.
I hope it all stays dry for awhile.
Reminder ~ Open during daylight hours only.

Temporarily unavailable.

I'm replacing the logbook which was soaked beyond repair and plan to replant by Saturday 4/19/14.

The logbook is a lost cause, I'm afraid. Everything was pretty wet. On the plus side this is a great stamp and we loved the location & played in the stream for awhile too. Thanks for bringing us to this historical site!!

Box is cracked and log is pretty wet and getting moldy...cleaned it up the best we could and rebagged the whole thing in a new ziploc (old one had actual water in it). Stamp is fine, we had a lot of fun playing around in the creek!

Great carving! Thanks for taking us to a wonderful place we wouldn't have gone if it wasn't for a letterbox. Our 1st NC box!

Nice location, stamp and logbook. Unfortunately, the logbook was wet. We aired it out a bit, dried out the box, replaced the ziplock bag and removed the outer bag around the box that was holding water. Thanks for a fun side trip on the way to the beach!
