We had been looking at the clue for these boxes since you first posted it. We just couldnt figure it out. We happened to drive by the location (as we have many times before today) and the lightbulb went on. This was definitely a case of us overanalysing a clue and making it more complicated it then it was.

We enjoyed the little carvings... and in the process of solving the clue learned about and Nishibi and Kyote.

Jiggs and I made a detour to Markham while on our way to a gathering in Buffalo. Nice carves in a peaceful area.

Luckily I had the necessary local geographic knowledge for this and was able to decode the location without too much trouble. Unlickily, work and bad weather conspired to prevent me from going out to find the boxes.

Today I finally had a a sunny lunchtime and no meetings. I found the first box with no trouble but had to dodge groundskeepers to retrieve and replace the second.

I liked the way the two images complemented each other. Thanks!
