Difficult area

The stump with two dots has likely decomposed. I think it was at the intersection of the two trails beyond the power line cut, as there was a mound in the trail here. From this point, 52 steps south did bring us to a fallen bare tree and about 15-20 steps southeast brought us to the box. Look for a large former two sister tree with one trunk snapped and sitting at the base. Box is there in good repair.

Persistence paid off! Poked around a couple of other mangled tree messes before hitting the container at the correct spot beneath 4 years- worth of leaf litter! More like 15 steps rather than 30, and yes, S.E. Loved the carving. Happy the box is still there!
