We tried for this box in a truck in 4W. There is a lot of avalanche damage. There were lots of big holes. We got all the way up past Government Basin. About 1/2 mile past Government Basin there is a large boulder blocking the road with impassable washouts and drop off on the left. The only way around is on the steep side on the right. 2 ATVs had to maneuver around, then 5 guys moved the boulder about 8" for a Jeep to barely squeeze by. Make sure you have a small Jeep or ATV for this one. We had to turn around, but the views were impressive.

Wow, what a great box, and a perfect location! For my first ATV trip we decided to try Yankee Boy Basin, so naturally I jumped at the chance to be first finder on this box.

The weather was beautiful, and although there were a lot of vehicles and hikers on the trail, it was not hard to be discrete. After traveling further up the trail to see the wildflowers (not at their peak yet), we stopped back at the same spot for lunch!

The stamp and logbook were dry and in good condition.
