Got back out today to replace the container and logbook. Also added a HH. The original logbook is still quite wet and has not been returned yet. I'll give it a few more days to dry out and then photograph it and return it to the box.

I wasn't sure we were going to find this one. It took a couple attempts, but we got there in the end.

The letterbox was still there. Unfortunately it was not well. The seal had failed and everything was completely waterlogged. The logbook was so wet we couldn't even separate the pages and the ink pad had filled the box with bright pink soup.

I wiped out the box and disposed of the ruined ink pad and ink-filled Ziploc bag. I've brought the logbook home for now to see if it can be dried out and salvaged.

I plan to head back out in a few days with a new (hopefully non-leaky) container. I'll also return the logbook and/or add a new one if the original can't be salvaged. I've left the stamp in the old box for now, just in case someone else goes searching for it before I make it back out. Sorry there's no logbook at the moment. I'll replace it ASAP.

It's been three years since someone found this box, but it's alive and well and out in the woods! This has to be one of Ontario's oldest surviving letterboxes. It's a bit damp.

The final leg of this journey is very picturesque. I cheated and started in the industrial park to cut down on the walking distance a bit.
